On the evening of November 25, a source from VietNamNet reporter said that Hai Phong City Police coordinated with relevant professional units to search the residence of Mr. Bui Duc Hieu (former Chairman of Hang Kenh Ward People's Committee) and his wife, Ms. Pham Thi Kieu Anh (born in 1985, former Deputy Head of the Inspection Committee of Hai An District Party Committee), both residing in Vinh Niem Ward, Hai An District to serve the investigation, due to their involvement in drugs.

Regarding Mr. Bui Duc Hieu, the People's Committee of Le Chan district has decided to dismiss the Chairman of the People's Committee of Hang Kenh ward, allowing him to resign at his request from November 20.

Le Chan District requires Mr. Hieu to be responsible for handing over documents and work to the new receiving department.

Mr. Hieu was detained by the police to investigate the illegal use of drugs, which occurred at the MDM nightclub.

As reported, in the early morning of November 21, Hai Phong City Police raided MDM nightclub located on Le Hong Phong Street, Ngo Quyen District. At the time of the inspection, there were 143 guests and 80 employees in the nightclub.

During a quick check, the authorities recorded 26 subjects testing positive for drugs, including Mr. Bui Duc Hieu and his wife, Ms. Pham Thi Kieu Anh.
