During the premiere of the movie "The Last Wife" held in Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of October 5, Kaity Nguyen shared her thoughts about the role of Linh - the female lead in the movie.
She said she was initially very nervous and did not dare to accept the role because she did not have confidence in herself to be able to do it well. However, this was her sixth film acting, so she wanted to make a breakthrough, renew herself for the audience, and overcome the challenges.

Talking about the hot scene in the movie with actor Thuan Nguyen, Kaity Nguyen admitted to drinking alcohol before acting. She said she felt shy because there were members in the crew who had worked with her since the first movie. Therefore, she drank alcohol to make her cheeks redder, to feel less shy, and to be more flexible.
Kaity Nguyen also had many compliments for her co-star Thuan Nguyen - who plays Nhan in the film. She said that this male actor knows how to support his female co-star's emotions.
In the movie, the two actors are deeply in love. Outside of the studio, Thuan Nguyen often writes love letters for Kaity Nguyen to read, as a way to nurture the feelings of love between Nhan and Linh.
Actor Thuan Nguyen said he was happy to participate in "The Last Wife". Initially, he did not intend to audition because he heard that it was a historical drama.
Although he loved the opportunity to work with Victor Vu, he was not confident with his tall, big body. When he was persuaded to audition, he came with a relaxed spirit but was chosen. Thuan Nguyen said he acted sincerely, without embellishment, showing a simple love for the character Linh.
"The Last Wife" was inspired by the novel "Ho han" by Hong Thai, directed by Victor Vu. According to director Victor Vu, the character Linh was originally a girl from a poor family, but due to circumstances, she had to marry a concubine to a mandarin's family to have a son to continue the family line.
At that time, a woman's value was only measured by her ability to give birth to a son, otherwise she would be considered "useless", "a waste of food and water", as Meritorious Artist Kim Oanh commented: "All women in feudal times were miserable".
Choosing the ancient setting as the background to build the story "The Last Wife", director Victor Vu hopes that viewers will always respect and preserve the traditional cultural values of the nation, but at the same time encourage everyone to look back and eliminate misconceptions of the past.
