HAGL strongly rejuvenates
In the early days of the year of the Snake, HAGL Club is the team with the strongest rejuvenation of its force, when calling back a series of players on loan or promoting young talents from the LPBank HAGL football academy to the first team.
Accordingly, Technical Director Vu Tien Thanh and Head Coach Le Quang Trai had a lucky money ceremony for 9 players of age to attend the 33rd SEA Games later this year in Thailand, such as AFF Cup 2024 hero Tran Trung Kien; 2 central defenders Ly Duc and Van Trieu; midfielders Cao Hoang Minh, Hoang Minh Tien, Moi Se (2003), striker Nguyen Minh Tam (2005), central defender Dinh Quang Kiet (2007), striker Tran Gia Bao (2008).
Coach Le Quang Trai affirmed that the first team's reception of a series of young players is part of the long-term strategy of HAGL Club, with the dual goal of being in the top of V-League 2024 - 2025 and contributing to Vietnamese football by increasing the input source for national youth teams.
Mr. Trai said: "We call the players born in 2003 so that they have the opportunity to approach the first team to gradually train, and at the same time help the coaching board re-evaluate what they lack to discuss and train in detail for further development in the future.
When HAGL registered the players for V-League 2024 - 2025, there was a plan for use in each specific stage. We always open the door so that young players have a suitable environment to play, learn and grow."
According to coach Le Quang Trai, most of HAGL's young stars have been tested in national youth teams, such as Tran Gia Bao in the Vietnam U.17 team or Minh Tam, Minh Tien, Quang Kiet with the Vietnam U.20 team playing in the U.20 Asia qualifiers...
Increasing choices for the Vietnam U.22 team
Mr. Trai analyzed: "Dinh Quang Kiet has an ideal physique and relatively promising skills. What he needs right now is a competition environment, otherwise training alone will not be effective.
The V-League is a very different level from the U.19 team or the first division. I hope that in the future, Quang Kiet will have more playing time, gradually getting used to the V-League environment to become stronger.
Goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien is a member of the Vietnamese team that just won the AFF Cup 2024, has a very good physique and is currently playing for the HAGL first team in the V-League. Center back Van Trieu is 1.88 m tall and has several seasons of V-League experience.
In particular, Ly Duc is one of the potential young players who has played all 11 V-League matches and 1 match in the National Cup of HAGL this season, has a strong playing style, participates well in attacks with 1 goal in the V-League.
Cao Hoang Minh, born in 2003, is also a promising player and will be given more opportunities to play in the near future by HAGL. In general, we always open the door for young players to have the opportunity to test themselves in the V-League.
The most difficult thing is to balance between achievements and giving opportunities to young stars to play. The coaching board will calculate carefully, sometimes having to accept risks to let the players play more, many times HAGL Club has to sacrifice achievements to contribute to the national teams."
