Results in new rural construction
Implementing the national target program on new rural construction, up to now, Van Chan district has had 12 communes meeting new rural standards and the locality is continuing to build advanced new rural communes.

According to the assessment results, by June 2024, Van Chan district has 3 communes recognized as meeting advanced NTM standards. In 2024, according to the plan, the whole district strives to have 5 more villages meeting NTM standards. Currently, the communes are completing the documents to submit to the People's Committee of Van Chan district for approval.
In the new rural construction program, the locality is focusing on 6 key topics including: One product per commune program; rural tourism development program in new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period; science and technology program serving new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period; digital transformation program in new rural construction, towards smart new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period; program to strengthen environmental protection, food safety and clean water supply in rural areas in the 2021-2025 period; program to improve the quality and effectiveness of implementing security and order criteria in new rural construction in the 2021-2025 period.

In the first 6 months of the year, Van Chan district has mobilized many resources to effectively implement the new rural criteria in the area such as: The whole district has deployed the construction of 20.8km of rural roads, 13 drainage works of all kinds. The total investment capital for rural traffic development in the first 6 months of the year is estimated at 60,130.38 million VND.

Regarding irrigation, the locality has directed Communes and towns proactively implement synchronous solutions such as irrigation, planned water use, repair and dredging of irrigation works to ensure enough water for production.
Regarding education, local units continue to fundamentally and comprehensively innovate education and training, thereby achieving a number of important results such as improving the quality of preschool and general education. By June 2024, the whole district has 43 schools meeting national standards, of which 38 are level 1 national standard schools; 6 are level 2 national standard schools.
In terms of culture, the locality focuses on caring for the cultural and spiritual life, improving the happiness index of the people. Organizing many activities to celebrate events and major holidays; many cultural and sports activities are organized in a vibrant manner with attractive and meaningful forms, contributing to attracting tourists and developing the local economy.

Up to now, Van Chan district has 4/24 communes with postal, telecommunications and internet service points; 3 telecommunications service providers maintain stable operations; the internet network has covered 100% of communes and towns in the district.
Along with that, the locality continues to effectively restructure the agricultural sector, develop the rural economy; strongly implement the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program to increase added value, in line with the digital transformation process, adapt to climate change; strongly develop rural industries; develop rural tourism; improve the operational efficiency of cooperatives; support start-up businesses in rural areas; improve the quality of vocational training for rural workers... contributing to increasing people's income in a sustainable manner.

In addition, poverty reduction and social security work continues to be well implemented, contributing to stabilizing the lives of poor households, policy families and rural residents.
Awakening potential and advantages in new rural construction
According to Vice Chairman of Van Chan District People's Committee Pham Thai Son, in the last 6 months of the year, the locality has implemented many key directions and tasks to effectively complete the set goals.
Specifically, for communes that have met the NTM standards, the district will continue to direct the maintenance and improvement of achieved criteria, and strive to complete unmet criteria according to the set of criteria for NTM communes in the period 2021 - 2025.
At the same time, strengthen the direction of communes and villages expected to complete the new rural, advanced new rural, and model new rural areas by 2024, focusing on accelerating the implementation of unachieved criteria.
Along with that, continue to promote propaganda work, raise awareness of the entire political system and people to arouse the potential and advantages of the locality in economic and social development, ensure security and order... strive to complete the plan targets of the new rural construction program in 2024.
Promoting the emulation movement "Yen Bai joins hands to build new countryside" to commend and honor outstanding collectives and individuals in building new rural areas, creating a great spread among the people, community and society.

Strengthen training and transfer of scientific knowledge to people; promote vocational training for rural workers. Integrate resources from national target programs, provincial policies, etc. to promote production development.
Continue to mobilize people to renovate village roads and alleys; build green fences at village cultural houses; build and use hygienic toilets, bathrooms, and water tanks.

Strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to classify waste at source; collect and treat solid waste according to regulations; build and replicate the model of "Lighting up the countryside" and flower roads. Through that, create a ripple effect among the people, aiming to raise people's awareness in protecting the environment, preserving the characteristics and traditional identity of green - clean - beautiful countryside.
Prioritize promoting support for the development of production according to the value chain, especially clean and safe agricultural production, contributing to promoting the transformation of labor structure and rural economy to increase rural people's income in a sustainable manner.
