With over 18 years of experience and extensive knowledge of infrastructure, he shared valuable experiences in solving practical problems and concluded that ransomware is the top threat, causing many attacks and heavy economic losses to businesses.

Ransomware has hit 66% of global organizations and 93% of data targets in 2023 (according to a report by Sophos and Veeam), causing $42 billion in damage in 2024. This number will continue to increase as the frequency of each attack shortens to just 2 seconds by 2031, according to the Cybersecurity Alliance.

To combat ransomware, Mr. Lin Guanrui has proposed the basic and best solution is to speed up the data recovery process. This is also the solution recommended by many leading organizations such as the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, etc.

And Huawei has developed a suite of secure storage solutions that enable detection and prevention of ransomware attacks, as well as efficient data recovery capabilities, enhancing data center protection for enterprises. Among them, Huawei MRP, the latest multi-layered anti-ransomware solution - is the industry's first anti-ransomware solution based on the combination of network storage technology with a 2-line defense architecture and 6 layers of comprehensive protection.

Huawei MRP builds an in-depth defense system for the pre-, during-, and post-attack stages, strictly following the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Identify-Protect-Detect-Response-Recover (IPDRR) Cybersecurity Framework. The solution has been certified by the international testing organization Tolly Group for 100% detection of ransomware samples through network storage in 21 different attack scenarios.

“Cybersecurity is Huawei’s top priority. In this important strategy, Huawei is committed to continuously optimizing its cybersecurity system in a comprehensive manner, complying with applicable laws, regulations, and standards of countries and referring to industry best practices,” Lin Guanrui emphasized.
