The congress was attended by 250 official delegates representing ethnic minority communities across the province. In terms of ethnic composition, the Tay ethnic group accounted for 48%, the Dao ethnic group 35%, the San Chay ethnic group 12%, and the rest were other ethnic groups. The oldest delegate was 81 years old, the youngest delegate was 17 years old... At the first session, the Congress elected the Congress Presidium and the Congress Secretariat.

On behalf of the Congress Presidium, comrade Nguyen The Giang thoroughly grasped the purpose and requirements of the congress. The congress is a political event of great significance to the ethnic minorities in the province, aiming to continue affirming the steadfast and consistent line of our Party and State on ethnic affairs and great national unity.

At the same time, the great contributions of ethnic minorities in the cause of socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, in the work of building the Party and the political system; contributing with the Party committees and authorities in the province to effectively implement the Resolution of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, bringing Tuyen Quang province to develop quite well, comprehensively and sustainably in the northern mountainous region.
Tomorrow morning (September 9), the Congress officially takes place at the Provincial Information and Conference Center.
