VOV.VN - On September 11, the US Mission in Vietnam, through the US Agency for International Development (USAID), said it will provide 1 million USD in emergency humanitarian aid to support Vietnam in overcoming the catastrophic damage caused by Typhoon Yagi.
According to PV Ho Diep/VOV1, this US aid will be allocated to Vietnamese partners to provide shelter, clean water, sanitation as well as other support besides food to contribute to Vietnam's disaster relief efforts; at the same time, it will help improve resilience to climate change and enhance disaster response capacity for communities across the country. Over the past five years, the U.S. Mission to Vietnam, through USAID, has provided $7.7 million in emergency assistance and disaster preparedness support, including responding to storm and flood needs and building the capacity of disaster response teams across the country.
Vietnamese Embassy in India launches campaign to support people affected by storm No. 3
Reporter Phan Tung/VOV-New Delhi reported that in response to the call of General Secretary and President To Lam, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, on the afternoon of September 11, in the capital New Delhi, the Vietnamese Embassy in India launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by storm No. 3.
Speaking at the launch, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai called on all staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in India, their spouses and children to donate at least one day's salary to support the work of overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3. With the tradition of mutual love and support of the Vietnamese people, Ambassador Nguyen Thanh Hai also called on Vietnamese people living in India to respond to the call for joint contributions through the Embassy.
