MBN reported that Miss Korea Daegu 2020 Lee Yeon-je, currently a reporter for Korean TV channel MBN, recently passed away after undergoing surgery.

Before her death, Lee Yeon-je expressed that she had to temporarily stop her hosting duties at MBN due to health reasons. She expressed gratitude to her colleagues and friends who supported her.
"It's been two months of illness and recovery. Yesterday, thanks to kind friends, I completed my last mission before going on sick leave. Despite the difficulties, I am very grateful and love the people around me who have always supported me," Lee Yeon-je wrote on social media SNS.
Lee Yeon-je was born in 1996 and graduated from Korea University with a degree in French Language and Literature.
Fans could not help but feel heartbroken at the premature passing of the young beauty queen and MC with many dreams and ambitions.
