Locals said that several motorcyclists and students riding bicycles had accidents. To warn of the danger, people put a tree branch and a plastic bag on top for passersby to see.
What is of concern is that, not far from this manhole, the concrete surfaces of three other manholes also have many deep cracks, showing signs of damage. People have reported the incident to the authorities but so far it has not been handled.
To Ngoc Van Street passes through a densely populated area, near a school, so authorities need to soon have a plan to repair the damaged manhole so that travel on this route is convenient and safe.
