The national team and U23 Vietnam will train together at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). Coach Philippe Troussier will not divide the coaching staff, team and players as the national team did under Park Hang Seo.
Thus, the Vietnamese team will gather in June 2023 with a total of 60 players. On June 13, Mr. Troussier divided the players into two groups, in which the main group of players moved to Hai Phong to play a friendly match with Hong Kong (China) on June 15.
Vietnam national football team will play friendly matches with Hong Kong and Syria.
The remaining group continued to train in Hanoi, played a practice match with the Hanoi Police Club on June 14, then moved to Hai Phong to regroup. Here, Coach Troussier continued to review the force to divide into 2 groups of teams.
On June 17, the reserve team of the Vietnamese team will have a practice match with Hai Phong Club. The main team will compete with the Syrian team on June 20 at Thien Truong Stadium (Nam Dinh).
In this training session, Coach Troussier did not distinguish between the U23 team and the national team. The French coach wanted to create conditions for all players to convey philosophy, provide general information and have the most general view.
"Whether it's a friendly or an official match, I always aim to win. The Vietnamese team only has a full squad for about 3 or 4 days before the friendly match with Hong Kong (China). I try to set up the players so that they have the basic shape that I want," said coach Troussier.
