In a recent meeting between coach Mano Polking and FAT, the two sides reached an agreement to extend the contract for another 3 months, until the end of March 2024 (coach Mano Polking's old contract with FAT ended after December 2023).
With the contract extension of 3 months, Coach Mano Polking will achieve his wish to lead the Golden Temple team at the Asian Championship early next year in Qatar.
The reason for the contract extension is only for 3 months, because after February - March next year, the current president of FAT, Mr. Somyot Poompunmuang, will end his term. Mr. Somyot does not want to sign a contract with an important person of the team beyond his working term at FAT.

Whether coach Mano Polking will continue to lead the Thai national team or not, after the deadline of March 2024, will be decided by the new president of FAT.
Speaking to Thailand's Ball Thai Stand media channel, coach Mano Polking said: "We have just agreed to extend the contract for another 3 months, with my duties including the Asian Cup. We will fight together again."
Previously, there was information that coach Mano Polking could come to the V-League, when a rich team in this tournament wanted the services of the coach with dual German and Brazilian nationality.
However, with the contract extension agreement just reached with FAT, coach Mano Polking will temporarily stay with the Thai team, participating in the Asian championship with the Golden Temple team.
