"I believe that if we can beat Liverpool like that, we can beat anyone, " said coach Erik ten Hag after Man Utd beat Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Old Trafford team won 4-3. Man Utd scored first thanks to Scott McTominay but then Liverpool turned the game around.
Man Utd beat Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Red Devils equalised twice - once late in the second half and again in extra time. Amad Diallo scored the winner in stoppage time of the second period of extra time, sending Man Utd into the FA Cup semi-finals.
"This is probably the moment when we have the belief, the energy to do special things," said the Man Utd head coach.
The Dutch coach did not hesitate to praise his players: "I have said many times that we are a team with a bright future. You can clearly see the potential of the team."
Antony is one of the players that coach Erik ten Hag especially praised. The Brazilian striker equalized 2-2 for Man Utd in the final minutes of the second half. This was only Antony's second goal for Man Utd this season (both goals were in the FA Cup).
"He has been struggling. In the early stages, he was not himself and that was because of himself. Antony lost his confidence and now he has to regain it. In the last 2 weeks, he has returned. I see the version of Antony that I worked with at Ajax," coach Erik ten Hag commented on Man Utd's number 21.
According to the draw results last night, Man Utd will meet Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-finals. This is the easiest scenario for the "Red Devils", because Coventry City only competes in the Championship (1 level below the Premier League), while the other two opponents are Chelsea and Man City facing each other.
