TPO - The 500kV Pho Noi transformer station (Hung Yen) - the last point of the 500kV circuit 3 project has completed installation, ready to receive electricity from the South. To complete the project earlier than expected, workers and engineers are working hard to dig and assemble equipment under the whirring sound of high voltage electricity.

Bays (a technical term for an area at a transformer station) 585, 586 at Pho Noi 500kV Substation were built on the reserved land area for 2 bays of 500kV lines located within the existing Pho Noi 500kV Substation.

With great determination, the project was completed on June 18, about 2 days earlier than expected.

All equipment has been inspected and accepted. After installation, the 500kV Pho Noi transformer station must test to ensure that the equipment operates properly, the switching time is within the allowable limits, and then energize. In the photo, on June 19, engineers at the 500kV Pho Noi transformer station check the electrical box at the construction site.

At the control room of the 500kV Pho Noi substation, the line expansion project is managed on a computer control panel. The green line on the screen is the 500kV power source, the red line is 220kV and the blue line is 110kV.

Regarding power regulation, Station Chief Pham Van Cuong said that there are two control levels. The 500kV voltage level is controlled by the National Power System Control Center (A0); the 220kV and 110kV voltage levels are controlled by the Regional Power System Control Center (A1). The power plant will change the wiring and reverse the direction. Which plant generates, increases or decreases power will be directed by the National Power System Control Center (A0). Regarding the 500kV line, circuit 1 brings power from the North to the South; circuit 2 brings power from the South to the Central region, and circuit 3 continues to bring power from the Central region to the North. If the North uses a lot, the South will push it out; if the South uses a lot, the North will push it in. The system will automatically adjust the frequency according to the load system.

The 500kV line 3 extension project is a key project that plays a particularly important role in national energy security. The 500kV line 3 extension project is 514km long, connecting Quang Trach to Pho Noi (Hung Yen) with a total investment of 23,000 billion VND. This project was approved in the master plan 8 to carry out inter-regional power transmission to the North, increasing power supply capacity.
