– On July 21, the People's Council of Chi Lang district held the ninth session of the 20th term for the 2021-2026 term, to evaluate the results of the implementation of socio-economic development, national defense and security tasks in the first 6 months of 2023 and decide on important contents and targets for the remaining months of 2023.

Attending the meeting were comrade Hoang Thi Hien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Home Affairs, candidate for the Provincial People's Council in Chi Lang district, along with leaders of the District Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and delegates of the District People's Council, term XX, 2021 - 2026.

At the meeting, the delegates of the District People's Council listened to reports and submissions on the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of the year, key tasks in the last 6 months of 2023 of the District People's Committee, the Committees of the District People's Council and functional agencies according to the law. In the first 6 months of 2023, the District People's Committee focused on directing tasks and solutions for socio-economic development. Accordingly, the total cultivated area in the first 6 months of 2023 reached 6 hectares, equal to 96.1% of the plan, an increase of 7.6% over the same period. The movement to build rural roads associated with new rural construction continued to be promoted, mobilizing the participation and contributions of the people. For example, 2,550 tons of cement were provided to communes and towns, nearly 24 km of rural roads were concreted . Investment in construction and completion of 4 bridges and underground spillways for people. The total industrial production value reached over 1,440 billion VND, reaching 56% of the plan, equal to 116% over the same period. Trade and services have many positive changes, the results of the first 6 months of 2023 were over 536 billion VND, reaching 44.5% of the plan, equal to 111% over the same period. The total state budget revenue of the district was over 24 billion VND, reaching 52% of the provincial estimate, reaching 39% of the operating plan and equal to 59% over the same period. Social culture is maintained, social security is ensured, national defense and security are maintained.

At the meeting, the district People's Council delegates had 10 opinions with 26 contents related to issues such as: Dong Bang Industrial Park planning has been in place for a long time but construction has not started, affecting people's lives; support work to trap fruit flies that harm Na; implementation of clean water projects scattered in the area; granting land use right certificates for areas donated by people to build infrastructure works; many sections of Highway 89 are damaged and degraded; support funding to repair traffic routes damaged by floods from 2022; support to build new traffic routes in some communes and towns, etc.

The opinions and recommendations of the delegates were answered directly by the leaders of the Chi Lang District People's Committee and leaders of specialized departments and offices at the meeting hall with contents within their authority. For recommendations not within their authority, they will be compiled and sent to competent agencies for consideration and resolution in the coming time.

The district People's Council delegates also voted to pass resolutions on implementing socio-economic development targets, ensuring national defense and security, and budget revenue and expenditure in 2023; Capital plan to implement national target programs for the period 2021 - 2025; and the supervision program of the district People's Council in 2023.
