The Hanoi People's Court has accepted the lawsuit of Hoa Binh Construction Group, and forced Sunshine E&C Construction Joint Stock Company to pay more than 94 billion VND.

The above information was mentioned by Hoa Binh Construction Group Corporation (HBC) in a report recently sent to the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).
Specifically, HBC said that the Hanoi People's Court accepted their lawsuit request and forced Sunshine E&C Construction Joint Stock Company to pay the total amount of principal, interest and fine of more than 94 billion VND.
Previously, the group chaired by Mr. Le Viet Hai filed a lawsuit against its partner, Sunshine E&C Construction, at the People's Court of Nam Tu Liem District in 2023.
The amount in the above lawsuit is still owed from two construction contracts for the Wonder Villas townhouse project and Sunshine International School (Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi).
In May last year, the court issued a first-instance judgment, accepting Hoa Binh Construction's lawsuit and forcing the partner to pay the entire debt.
After resolving Sunshine E&C's appeal, the Hanoi People's Court issued legally effective judgment No. 285 dated November 28, 2024, forcing this enterprise to pay the entire debt to HBC.
Notably, in the dispute resolution progress report updated to February 17 sent to HBC, ALB & Partners Law Firm also said that the total value of the dispute between Mr. Le Viet Hai's group and Sunshine's legal entities amounted to VND746 billion (equivalent to USD30 million). Of which, the dispute between HBC and Sunshine E&C is only one case.
There is also a dispute between HBC and Sunshine Group and a dispute between HBC and Sunshine Saigon. In which, the law firm has recovered the entire amount of more than 157 billion VND from the dispute between HBC and Sunshine Saigon.
Previously, as reported by Tuoi Tre Online , the District 1 Civil Judgment Enforcement Office enforced the judgment of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court, forcing Sunshine to pay Hoa Binh Construction Group nearly 158 billion VND and interest incurred if the judgment is delayed.
This is not the first time HBC has won a lawsuit to collect debts. In October 2023, HBC collected VND304 billion from FLC Group.
