(CPV) - According to the program, the 2024 ASEAN Military Band Exchange will have hundreds of musicians from the military band of the Vietnam People's Army, the Ministry of Public Security; military bands from Cambodia, China, Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar participating and performing many outstanding works.
On December 13, in Hanoi, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense, chaired the general rehearsal of Vietnamese military music teams participating in the 2024 Military Music Exchange.

From December 19 to 22, at the historical and cultural relic space of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Hanoi, the ASEAN Military Music Exchange Program 2024 will take place with the theme "Music connects friendship". This is an event held on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day. Accordingly, hundreds of musicians from the military bands of the Vietnam People's Army, the Vietnam People's Public Security, and the military bands of the armies of Laos, Cambodia, China, Malaysia and Myanmar will participate and perform special works.
At the rehearsal, a number of main contents took place: Flag salute ceremony; art performance program, joint concert program, separate performances on stage by military bands.

To participate in the Exchange program, the Military Training Department (General Staff), along with units and functional agencies, actively and proactively did well all preparations; at the same time, built programs and scripts for the opening and closing ceremonies; directed the development of performance scripts in the areas; deployed training and practice for military music teams.
Speaking at the rehearsal, General Nguyen Tan Cuong praised the units and functional agencies; especially the musicians, for overcoming difficulties, implementing training and practicing with good results. The Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army emphasized the importance and significance of the 2024 Military Band Exchange; requested the participating units, agencies and forces, based on the comments at the rehearsal, to continue to uphold the sense of responsibility, take advantage of the time to review, prepare carefully and be ready to perform tasks, contributing to the overall success of the Exchange.General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested that the organization and performance must be truly professional, highly artistic, creating a strong impression to introduce and promote the unique and typical features of Vietnamese culture, country, people, and the Vietnam People's Army to the people, armies of other countries and international friends. Along with that, units and agencies need to proactively deploy preparation work, especially for military bands of other countries; organize widespread propaganda on mass media; ensure absolute safety during the exchange./.
