Economic growth at the beginning of the year

In the winter-spring crop of 2024-2025, the whole district planted short-term crops on 9,938 hectares. Of which, 3,542 hectares used high-yield, high-quality rice varieties and converted crops on rice land with an area of ​​246 hectares, reaching 100.4% of the plan. Although pests and diseases on crops in the winter-spring crop appeared, the level of damage was mild. Harvested crops planted in the winter-spring crop were 6,206/9,938 hectares, reaching 62.44%, rice yield increased but rice prices decreased compared to the winter-spring crop of the previous year. Currently, the district has a plan to re-clear and dredge the flow of flood drainage channels and natural rivers and streams in 2025, especially in Thuan Minh commune and neighboring areas... At the same time, 14 lines/10.77 km of intra-field irrigation have been deployed. Accordingly, in Ham Chinh commune, there are 8 routes/2 km, Ham Duc 1 route/0.27 km, La Da 3 routes/5.5 km, Dong Giang 1 route/1.5 km and Dong Tien 1 route/1.5 km.

In addition, the district regularly directs and urges the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development. The Provincial People's Committee recognized Da Mi commune as meeting new rural standards and Ham Liem commune as achieving advanced new rural standards; registered communes to reach new rural standards (Dong Giang) and advanced new rural standards (Ham Phu, Hong Son) in 2025. The value of development investment from the beginning of the year to date has been 1,500 billion VND, reaching 18.75% of the yearly plan (8,000 billion VND). Focus on directing the preparation of documents and inspecting, urging to accelerate the construction progress of transitional works and disbursement of capital for basic construction works, especially key works, works serving new rural construction... Up to now, the value of basic construction volume in the first quarter of 2025 has been 72,922 billion VND, reaching 24.71% of the capital plan (210.08 billion VND) and 9.12% of the annual plan (800 billion VND), disbursed 38.44 billion VND, reaching 18.5% of the capital plan of the district as the investor (207,685 billion VND)...

Overcoming difficulties to complete the target

Implementing the socio-economic development tasks of the district in the first quarter of 2025 in difficult conditions, especially the limited resources for investment and development. However, all levels and sectors from the district to the grassroots have made great efforts to lead, direct and implement socio-economic development tasks according to Conclusion No. 1834 dated December 19, 2024 of the District Party Committee and Resolution No. 42 dated December 20, 2024 of the District People's Council. At the same time, it is associated with implementing the district's theme for 2025: "Strictly implementing the policy of organizing the political system to be streamlined, compact, strong, efficient, effective and efficient; strengthening the work of planning and management, and being determined in implementing administrative reforms associated with improving the investment environment".

Notably, the work of streamlining and streamlining the organizational apparatus according to Resolution No. 18, dated October 25, 2017 of the Party Central Committee was completed. Construction of the road from the district center to National Highway 1A was started, and attention was paid to directing production and disease prevention on crops and livestock. Prices of some basic agricultural products remained stable. State management in all fields was strengthened; regular inspections were conducted, violations were promptly detected and handled. Actively directing the preparation of documents and projects for works in the 2025 plan and the implementation of transitional works. Cultural, information and propaganda activities were maintained, and people were organized to celebrate the Lunar New Year 2025 to ensure the requirements of "joy, health, safety and savings". People's health care was given attention, and food hygiene and safety was enhanced; Social security and social welfare policies are well implemented, especially taking care of policy beneficiaries, poor households, disadvantaged households, and ethnic minority households during the 2025 Lunar New Year...

In the coming time, the district will focus on directing the acceleration of the progress of dossier preparation and construction of basic construction works and the disbursement of public investment capital. Directing the review of difficulties and obstacles to promptly remove them, thoroughly resolving outstanding cases in compensation and site clearance of works, especially for some items passing through the district under the Phan Thiet Military Airport Project, the bridge over Cai River embankment, the road from the district center to National Highway 1A. Promoting and urging the budget collection work to ensure that the budget collection meets the target. Effectively implementing the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the district, synchronously implementing policies for people with meritorious services, sustainable poverty reduction, etc.
