On September 12, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Management Board informed that the unit was assigned by the Hai Phong City People's Committee to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments and branches of the city to urgently prepare a dossier to propose the establishment of the Southern Hai Phong Coastal Economic Zone to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
Part of Bang La ward, Do Son district, Hai Phong city will be included in the planning of the Southern Hai Phong coastal economic zone.
Accordingly, the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong is expected to have an area of 20,000 hectares in 5 districts. Of which, the 3 localities with the smallest areas contributing to the economic zone are Do Son district (part of Bang La ward); An Lao district (part of 2 communes of An Tho, Chien Thang) and Vinh Bao district (all 4 communes of Tran Duong, Hoa Binh, Vinh Tien, Co Am).
In Kien Thuy district, the economic zone will include all 2 communes of Tan Trao, Doan Xa and part of 3 communes of Dai Hop, Tu Son, Kien Quoc, Ngu Phuc. In Tien Lang district, it will include all 7 communes of Vinh Quang, Tien Hung, Hung Thang, Dong Hung, Tay Hung, Nam Hung, Bac Hung and part of 2 communes of Tien Thang, Tien Minh.
In the planned area of the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong, there are currently 5 industrial parks in the planning, including the industrial parks: Tan Trao, Ngu Phuc, Tien Lang 1, Tien Lang 2 and Tien Lang Airport. In addition, there is also the Tran Duong - Hoa Binh industrial development area.
To facilitate the establishment of the Southern Coastal Economic Zone of Hai Phong, in the coming time, Hai Phong City will report to the Prime Minister to supplement the economic zone land use planning indicators in the national land use planning and plan until 2030 and until 2025 to be allocated in Hai Phong City .
