On February 19, Colonel Hoang Khac Luong, deputy director of Quang Binh Provincial Police, confirmed that he had learned of the incident related to the clip recording two police officers from the Social Order Administrative Management Police Department of this unit assisting an old man in bringing a sleeping child home safely.
Over the past few days, the online community in Quang Binh has been continuously sharing a 30-second clip of two police officers on patrol. This clip was recorded by a security camera of a house along the road.
The clip shows two policemen on a special motorbike patrolling the road, suddenly stopping and looking back. Then an old man carrying a 3-4 year old child on a motorbike approaches from behind.
Two police officers informed the old man that the child sitting in the back seat was showing signs of falling asleep. The camera footage shows that after exchanging a few words with the old man, the child was carried by two police officers to the patrol car and taken away. The old man ran ahead to lead the way.
The clip touched the hearts of many people when it was shared online. Many readers said that the actions of the two policemen were very beautiful and warm. Many people also considered this a model for building relationships between the police force and the people.
According to verification by Tuoi Tre Online , the two soldiers in the clip belong to the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order.
Major Tran Quy Hoi, the patrol team leader in the clip, confirmed that he and Senior Lieutenant Doan Minh Tuyen were the two people who stopped the car to take the child home.
Major Hoi said the incident happened at around 11:00 a.m. on February 17 on Ly Thuong Kiet Street (Dong Hoi City). At that time, Major Hoi and Senior Lieutenant Tuyen were on patrol when they discovered an old man riding a motorbike carrying a child in the same direction.
"We saw the child sitting in the back leaning to one side and showing signs of falling asleep. The old man sitting in the front was only using one hand to drive, while the other hand had to reach behind to support the child. This situation was extremely dangerous. The child could fall asleep and fall out of the car at any moment," said Mr. Hoi.
So the two policemen decided to stop the car, wait for the old man to get on, and signal him to stop. After informing him of the child's condition and warning him of danger, the two policemen proactively offered to take the child to their patrol car to help him get home.
After a moment of surprise, the old man agreed and ran ahead to lead the way.
"When we got to the alley about 1km away, the people in the neighborhood saw the police bringing the child back and thought something was wrong and ran out to see. We just handed the child back to the old man and continued patrolling, not even having time to ask for his name," Major Hoi shared.
