Of which, there were 496.4 thousand international visitors, an increase of 34.5% over the same period last year, and 2 million domestic tourists, an increase of 11.1% over the same period last year. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND 9,530 billion, an increase of 19.7% over the same period in 2023.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the capital's tourism industry has welcomed 18.95 million visitors, an increase of 12.3% over the same period in 2023. International tourists reached 3.94 million, an increase of 42% over the same period in 2023, and domestic tourists reached 15.1 million, an increase of 6.5% over the same period in 2023.
In August, the average room occupancy rate of the hotel sector was estimated at 57.3%, up 0.3% over the same period in 2023. Currently, Hanoi has 3,760 accommodation establishments with 71,246 rooms; of which 606 hotels and apartment buildings have been rated from 1 to 5 stars. The system of shopping, dining, and entertainment facilities that meet tourist service standards has attracted and served a large number of tourists and residents to visit and shop.

Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that in recent times, Hanoi Department of Tourism has implemented cooperation plans with provinces and cities to promote and cooperate in tourism development, including: Plan No. 91/KH-SDL dated July 8, 2024 on organizing a conference to link and develop tourism products between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City in 2024; Plan No. 93/KH-SDL dated July 18, 2024 on implementing the program "Hanoi Days in Dien Bien".
Build and develop new experiential tourism products associated with heritage - relics, and craft villages along the route Hanoi Center - Thanh Tri - Thuong Tin - Phu Xuyen; Hanoi Center - Thanh Oai - Ung Hoa - My Duc.

According to Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang, in September, Hanoi Department of Tourism will continue to advise on the implementation of the tasks assigned in Decision 2195/QD-UBND dated April 25, 2024 of the City People's Committee on innovating the organizational model, management methods, conservation, and promotion of the value of the historical relic site and special national scenic spot of Huong Son complex (Huong Pagoda) in My Duc district; Submit to the City People's Committee to issue the City People's Committee's Decision on promulgating the "Regulations on the management model of city-level tourist areas" according to regulations.
Organizing event programs: Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2024; Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2024 and a series of Hanoi sports tourism events 2024; a series of thematic activities (Festivals) on Hanoi's cultural and historical tourism products; conferences to meet and dialogue with tourism businesses and announce the Hanoi domestic tourism stimulus program 2024.
