Gold prices continue to plummet
This is the second consecutive decline in gold prices with a total decrease of 63 USD/ounce.
Converted according to the exchange rate listed at the bank, the world gold price is equivalent to 81.61 million VND/tael.
Previously, in just two days, the world gold price had increased to 73 USD/ounce, equivalent to 2.24 million VND/tael. Therefore, investors expected the gold price to reach the old record.
However, contrary to forecasts, gold prices suddenly turned around and dropped sharply. On gold forums, investors were pessimistic. According to analysis, gold price movements will become more complicated.
A major risk for gold is the uncertain economic policies of US President-elect Donald Trump, especially on the issue of tariffs.
Besides, there are still quite optimistic forecasts that the decrease in world gold prices is necessary for a strong increase again. After the meeting of the US Federal Reserve (Fed), the possibility of gold prices recovering.
Some analysts say that inflation in the US is slowing down, and could accelerate again in 2025.
The situation may force the Fed to slow down the pace of interest rate cuts, thereby affecting the prospect of gold's price increase.

Domestically, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) today sharply reduced the selling price of SJC gold bars to 86.3 million VND/tael, down 800,000 VND/tael compared to yesterday. The buying price also dropped from 84.6 million VND/tael to 83.8 million VND/tael.
The difference between buying and selling prices is 2.5 million VND/tael.
Meanwhile, the selling price of SJC gold rings today decreased by 600,000 VND/tael, to 85.3 million VND/tael. The buying price is 83.8 million VND/tael.
Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited reduced the selling price of gold rings to 85.58 million VND/tael, and the buying price to 83.83 million VND/tael.
DOJI Company listed the price of gold rings at 83.8 - 84.9 million VND/tael (buy - sell), down 1 million VND/tael compared to yesterday.
The gold market has cooled down significantly compared to last month despite more abundant supply.
At the current price, the price of SJC gold bars is 4.69 million VND/tael higher than the world gold price, while the price of gold rings is 3.69 million VND/tael higher.
