Amidst the still challenging socio-economic situation, the Long Xuyen City Party Committee has fostered a spirit of unity and consensus, unleashing the combined strength of the entire political system and all segments of the population. With the motto "dare to think, dare to act, dare to take responsibility," Party committees and authorities at all levels have proactively reviewed and assessed the progress of achieving set targets and objectives. From there, they have developed specific, realistic action plans, focusing on resolving bottlenecks and unlocking development resources. The close and decisive leadership of the city's Party Committee has created strong momentum for all levels and sectors to effectively implement their tasks. According to Huynh Quoc Thai, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of the Long Xuyen City Party Committee, the city's Party Committee has identified Party building and the political system as key tasks. In the first three months of the year, the dissemination and implementation of Party resolutions and directives have been carried out seriously and extensively. Organizational and personnel work was emphasized, ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the administrative apparatus at all levels. The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee issued a decision to terminate the activities of the City's Committee for the Protection and Care of Cadre Health and transfer the task of protecting and caring for the health of city cadres; issued a decision to establish the City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; decided to dissolve 4 grassroots Party organizations; established 7 grassroots Party branches after mergers, consolidations, and reorganizations according to Resolution 18-NQ/TW; and established the Party Committee of My Hoa Hung Secondary and High School. Patriotic emulation movements, with a focus on the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" emulation movement and the implementation of grassroots democracy, continued to be promoted. Inspection and supervision work was strengthened, contributing to preventing and curbing negative manifestations and consolidating the people's trust in the Party's leadership.

Socio -economic development is improving.

In the first months of 2025, the city's socio-economic situation improved in various sectors. The city's economy continued to maintain stable growth, focusing on developing advantageous industries, promoting investment, and creating a favorable environment for businesses to thrive. Key programs and projects were accelerated, contributing to the completion of infrastructure and enhancing the competitiveness of the local economy. “Trade and services continued to thrive, with total retail sales of goods increasing by 13.35%; revenue from food and accommodation services increased by 17.48% compared to the same period last year; and industrial production value increased by 11.41% compared to the same period last year. The restructuring of the agricultural sector continued towards urban agriculture, linked with ecotourism, contributing to the development of tourism and services, environmental protection, and adaptation to climate change. In particular, although not included in the province's roadmap, the city strived to complete the targets and criteria, and the province recognized My Khanh and My Hoa Hung communes as achieving advanced new rural standards,” said Tran Minh Duc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Long Xuyen City.

In the socio-cultural field, the City Party Committee pays special attention to improving the material and spiritual lives of the people. Social welfare policies are implemented synchronously and effectively, ensuring care for policy beneficiaries and those in difficult circumstances. “The city completed the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses 3 months ahead of the city and provincial plan, and 9 months ahead of the central government plan. Through this, 60 houses were built or renovated, with a total cost of over 4.7 billion VND from social mobilization funds, without using the 5% savings from the local budget's recurrent expenditure in 2024. The city proactively registered not to receive support from the province so that the province could focus its funds on supporting more disadvantaged localities. The city has handed over the houses, creating motivation for families to strive for a better life, contributing to the socio-economic development of the city,” informed Tran Minh Duc, Chairman of the Long Xuyen City People's Committee.

In addition, education, healthcare, culture, and sports continue to receive investment and development, contributing to improving the quality of human resources and the cultural and spiritual life of the people. The city pays attention to timely guidance, stabilizing the political security situation, social order and safety, and resolving administrative procedures for people and businesses in the area after the completion of district-level police operations, preventing the occurrence of hotspots and complex situations in the area...
