Previously, pepper prices today, May 22, 2024, in the Central Highlands and Southeast regions increased sharply from 2,000 - 5,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, Dak Lak pepper price is purchased at 113,000 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday's price. Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) is currently at 113,000 VND/kg, an increase of 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Dak Nong pepper price today recorded an increase of 2,000 VND/kg, up to 113,000 VND/kg.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices also increased sharply today. Accordingly, in the Ba Ria - Vung Tau region, it increased by 5,000 VND/kg, to 116,000 VND/kg and in the Binh Phuoc region, it increased to 114,000 VND/kg, an increase of 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Thus, pepper prices today recorded a sharp increase after many consecutive days of price stagnation, reaching the highest level of 116,000 VND/kg recorded in pepper growing areas in Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
Since the beginning of May 2024, domestic pepper prices have increased by 13,000 VND/kg. The high pepper price is a good thing for farmers to make up for the years when prices were too low (2019 and 2020).

Brazilian black pepper price ASTA 570 today is at 5,000 USD/ton.
Malaysian ASTA black pepper price remains at USD 4,900/ton; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price remains at USD 7,300/ton.
The listed prices of Vietnamese pepper of all kinds today have stagnated. Of which, the price of Vietnamese black pepper 500 g/l today is traded at 4,600 USD/ton; the price of 550 g/l is traded at 4,700 USD/ton; the price of ASTA white pepper is traded at 6,600 USD/ton.
Pepper prices of all types on the Kochi floor (India) today continued to increase sharply compared to yesterday. Of which, the Garbled type was traded at 59,800 Rupees/100kg, the UnGarbled type was at 57,800 Rupees/100kg.
According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association, by the end of April 2024, Vietnam had exported 83,067 tons of pepper of all kinds; of which black pepper reached 73,555 tons and white pepper reached 9,512 tons.
Total pepper export turnover reached 352 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, the export volume decreased by 19.4%, but the turnover increased by 10.3%. The average export price of black pepper in the first 4 months reached 4,065 USD/ton, white pepper reached 5,678 USD/ton, up 19.4% for black pepper and 14.5% for white pepper compared to the same period last year.
