The report on the influenza situation in the city by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) of Da Nang shows that in the last 2 months of 2024, there were 185 cases of seasonal influenza treated as inpatients at medical examination and treatment facilities in the area (accounting for 18.7% of the whole year); in January 2025, there were only 122 cases of seasonal influenza treated.
Currently, there are 24 flu vaccination sites in Da Nang City. From February 1, 2025 to now, vaccination facilities in the area have administered 10,849 flu vaccine doses. Of which, there were many people receiving vaccinations at facilities such as: VNVC Center (Hai Chau District) with 2,548 doses; VNVC Cam Le with 1,014 doses; VNVC Son Tra with 1,014; VNVC Lien Chieu with 1,058 doses... The rest of the facilities are in normal condition.
According to Dr. Vo Thu Tung, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Health, due to the erratic weather, influenza is highly contagious. Therefore, in recent days, the number of people getting flu shots in the area has increased. However, only a few flu vaccination facilities are partially crowded due to the people's demand for those vaccination facilities, while most other facilities are operating normally, without any overload.
To enhance the effectiveness of measures to prevent and control seasonal flu and respiratory diseases, the Department of Health directs the City Center for Disease Control (CDC) to proactively monitor, assess risks, identify and forecast disease situations and promote activities to direct, guide, supervise and provide professional support to lower levels. Require medical examination and treatment facilities and educational institutions to strictly implement measures to prevent and control respiratory diseases.
"When people have symptoms of cough, fever, runny nose, headache, fatigue, do not arbitrarily test and buy medicine to treat at home but need to contact a medical facility for advice, examination and timely treatment. Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing with a cloth or disposable tissue; wear a mask in crowded places. Limit contact with people with flu or suspected cases. People must also keep their bodies warm, eat enough nutrients, and increase physical activity to improve their health," recommended Dr. Vo Thu Tung, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Health.
