Rice price today January 20: Reversal and slight decrease

Rice prices today, January 20, 2025, in the Mekong Delta region fluctuated little. Rice of all kinds was relatively stable, fresh rice prices remained stable compared to the weekend.

As for by-products, the price of by-products ranges from 5,700 - 7,200 VND/kg. Currently, the price of fragrant rice bran ranges from 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg; the price of dry bran ranges from 5,700 - 5,800 VND/kg.

Recorded in localities today, the amount of arrival is still slow, buying and selling transactions continue to be slow. In Lap Vo - Vam Cong (Dong Thap), the amount is low, prices slightly decreased for all types, warehouses are still buying slowly; some warehouses are preparing for Tet holiday. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the amount of arrival is low, prices of raw rice of all types continue to decrease slightly.

In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang), the quantity is small, most of the rice is general, there is little good rice, prices are relatively stable.

At retail markets, rice prices remained unchanged compared to the end of the week. Currently, regular rice fluctuates at 15,000 - 17,000 VND/kg; Nang Nhen rice has the highest listed price of 28,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice 21,500 VND/kg; long-grain fragrant rice 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice 22,000 VND/kg; Jasmine fragrant rice fluctuates at 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; common white rice 17,500 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice 21,000 VND/kg; Soc rice usually fluctuates at 18,000 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 21,000 VND/kg; Japanese rice is 22,500 VND/kg.

In many localities today, there is a shortage of supply and new rice transactions are still slow. In Soc Trang, early winter-spring rice in some areas has begun to appear slowly, farmers are offering to sell quite slowly, rice prices have fluctuated little. In Dong Thap, farmers are offering to sell a lot, prices are stagnant, rice transactions are slow.

In Long An, farmers are offering early winter-spring rice, traders are buying little. In Can Tho, farmers are offering little, waiting for the harvest day, demand is asking for little, transactions are few. In Kien Giang, the source of winter-spring rice in the Mien Thu region is running out, farmers tend to offer more.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices today are stable compared to the end of the week. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 419 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 395 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 326 USD/ton.
