After a series of consecutive increases, the Northern region has begun to show signs of a slight decrease.

Some localities such as Bac Giang, Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho recorded a price reduction of VND 1,000/kg, bringing the common transaction price to around VND 67,000 - 68,000/kg.

With this new development, the North is holding the position of the region with the lowest pork price in the country, forcing farmers to carefully consider the time to sell.

Pig price in Central Highlands

The Central and Central Highlands regions today showed positive recovery in many provinces and cities.

Localities such as Binh Dinh, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Binh Phuoc witnessed an increase of VND1,000 - 2,000/kg, with prices ranging from VND69,000 - 73,000/kg.

This price is considered the peak of the week, clearly reflecting positive signals from consumer demand at slaughterhouses and restaurants as the holiday season approaches.

Southern pig price

The South stood out on April 11 with a series of localities recording significant increases, some places increasing by up to 2,000 VND/kg in just 24 hours.

Provinces including Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Tay Ninh, Vinh Long, Tien Giang, Ben Tre have increased by 2,000 VND/kg.
An increase of VND 1,000/kg was recorded in Ho Chi Minh City, Ca Mau, Long An, Dong Thap, Hau Giang, Kien Giang, An Giang, Tra Vinh.

Currently, the price of live pigs in this area fluctuates from 72,000 - 74,000 VND/kg, the highest in the country, showing that the demand for meat is increasing again in the context of gradually recovering purchasing power.

Experts say that if the recovery trend continues, the pig market may continue to witness new price increases before the April 30 – May 1 holiday. However, input costs and disease prevention efforts are still factors that prevent farmers from being completely assured.

Livestock situation in Bac Kan

Bac Kan Statistical Office reported that in the first quarter of this year, livestock and poultry farming activities in the province continued to be stable and had a tendency to develop. The reason is that there were no major outbreaks in the past time, and at the same time, support policies were implemented promptly, creating motivation for people to invest in production.

The total number of main livestock in the first quarter is estimated at 298,816, equivalent to 93.11% over the same period. Specifically, the buffalo herd reached 28,466 (83.19%), the cow herd was 14,922 (89.76%), the pig herd was 163,329 (90.15%), and the poultry herd reached 2.16 million, up 0.7% over the previous year.

Bac Kan Statistics Office said that in the first quarter, the disease situation in livestock in the province controlled the price of fresh meat to be relatively stable and increased again like buffalo, beef, and pork, so the output of fresh meat for slaughter increased compared to the same period.
Total main livestock output in the first three months of the year is estimated at 7,210 tons, up 6.11% over the same period in 2024. Of which, pork output is estimated at 4,485 tons, up 6.33%; buffalo meat output is estimated at 1,072 tons, up 5.3%; poultry meat is estimated at 1,150 tons, up 5.89%; poultry egg output is estimated at 8.96 million eggs, up 5.06%.
