Meeting and paying tribute to those who have made great contributions to the cause of defending the Fatherland

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh expressed his emotion and joy when seeing the health and life of revolutionary elders, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers, wounded and sick soldiers increasingly receiving careful care, and that the comrades themselves have made many positive contributions to the community, contributing to the cause of building their homeland Da Nang.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh affirmed that the war has been over for 40 decades, but the Fatherland and the People will forever remember the heroic martyrs, the blood and bones of generations of fathers and brothers who have colored the national flag, the country's independence, the people's freedom and happiness. The revolutionary elders, the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, and the relatives of the martyrs today are witnesses to the heroic and tragic period of the nation, the brilliant glories and immeasurable losses.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh informed the Heroic Mothers of Vietnam, Heroes of the Armed Forces, war invalids, sick soldiers, relatives of martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution about the city's socio-economic development in recent times. Accordingly, Da Nang has made remarkable progress, gradually affirming its position as a modern and civilized city.

Stories and memories of a time of war were shared by Senior Lieutenant General, Associate Professor, Doctor, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Vo Tien Trung; Major General, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Vo Duy Chin and Major, Hero of the People's Armed Forces Tran Ngoc Trung at the meeting.

In addition to efforts to comprehensively develop the economy, politics, society, security and defense, the city's leaders still set social security goals, including the work of gratitude, repayment and care for war invalids, martyrs and those who have contributed to the revolution. In addition to the Party's policies and the State's laws on preferential treatment for people with meritorious services, the city also constantly researches, promulgates and expands preferential regimes and policies to improve and enhance the material and spiritual life of people with meritorious services.

City leaders presented flowers and expressed gratitude for the contributions of the heroes of the Vietnam People's Armed Forces in the struggle to protect the homeland and country.

On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Da Nang City Party Committee (March 28, 1930 - March 28, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Nang City (March 29, 1975 - March 29, 2025), the city has implemented a series of gratitude activities such as: Visiting and presenting gifts to a number of policy families, former comrades of the Quang Da Special Zone Party Committee who participated in directing the liberation, visiting friendly localities that supported and contributed to the liberation of Da Nang; supporting the construction of Great Unity houses for poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in the Quang Nam - Da Nang Revolutionary Base area during the resistance war; supporting Quang Nam province to invest in renovating the national historical relic of the Quang Da Special Zone Party Committee Base in Hon Tau, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province; the city is also preparing to welcome delegations of former armed forces during the resistance war to revisit the old battlefields.

"The city's leaders determined that this anniversary is an important political activity to widely propagate the historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions, patriotism, heroism, self-reliance and solidarity of Da Nang people; contributing to educating the tradition and morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "Repaying gratitude", always remembering the contributions of compatriots and soldiers who fell in the struggle to protect the homeland and the country. At the same time, it is also an opportunity to introduce a youthful, innovative, creative and attractive city to domestic and foreign investors and tourists", emphasized Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh believes that, with the indomitable, brave, and resilient spirit in the war of the revolutionary veterans, the wounded and sick soldiers, with the tradition of the families of relatives, families of martyrs, families with meritorious services to the revolution, the uncles, aunts, and uncles will continue to be shining examples to pass on to the younger generation about patriotism, revolutionary spirit, optimism, and strong efforts to rise up in all circumstances.
