On October 14, Quang Ninh province held a meeting to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the province's founding (October 30, 1963 - October 30, 2023). The meeting was attended by 388 delegates representing groups and individuals who have made great contributions to the locality's development over the past time.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee spoke at the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Ky - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, expressed his deep gratitude for the contributions, dedication and wholehearted service of cadres, party members and people of all ages in the process of building, protecting and developing Quang Ninh province over the past 60 years.
Quang Ninh provincial leaders and delegates reviewed the journey since the province's establishment. On October 30, 1963, at the 7th session of the 2nd National Assembly, the National Assembly passed a resolution approving the merger of Hai Ninh province and Hong Quang area into Quang Ninh province.
The name “Quang Ninh” was suggested by Uncle Ho in 1963. According to him, “Quang” means vast, “Ninh” means peaceful and sustainable. Quang Ninh is a vast, peaceful and sustainable region.
Representatives of individuals and groups who have made many contributions to the development of Quang Ninh province over the past 60 years.
Over nearly 60 years of building and developing Quang Ninh province, the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in the province have constantly made efforts, united, and been creative, achieving many important achievements and outstanding marks in all fields.
Quang Ninh province has achieved double-digit growth for 7 consecutive years (2016 - 2022). The locality completed the new rural development program at all three levels and reached the national target program on sustainable poverty reduction for the period 2021 - 2025 3 years ahead of schedule.
Quang Ninh has received many noble awards from the Party and the State. Many collectives and individuals in the province have been awarded emulation titles and noble forms of commendation by the President and the Prime Minister.
Based on the achievements, Quang Ninh province sets development goals until 2030: Building and developing Quang Ninh into a model province of wealth, civilization, modernity, international tourism center, marine economic center, gateway to the key economic region of the North and the whole country. Strive to maintain an average growth rate of 10%/year or more for the entire period of 2025 - 2030 .
