Nearly 3,000 people participated in the program "March of Capital Students"

On the morning of November 10, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) organized the program "March of Capital Students". This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training (1954-2024) and the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024).


Attending the event were Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha, former Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do, Chairman of the Vietnam Education Trade Union Nguyen Ngoc An, leaders of a number of units under the Ministry of Education and Training, leaders of Hanoi city departments and branches, and representatives of a number of international organizations.

The program "March of Capital Students" was organized for the first time by the Department of Education and Training of the Capital, attracting 47 units representing 30 districts, towns, international schools, with the participation of nearly 3,000 participants including members of the Military - General Staff Ceremonial Group, People's Public Security Ceremonial Group, students of Vietnamese ethnic groups and students from countries around the world studying in Hanoi, artists, actors of the Capital, teachers...

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong said: This event is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Hanoi Department of Education and Training (1954-2024) and the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 - November 20, 2024), at the same time, it is also an activity to respond to the city's Creative Design Festival and effectively implement the 2018 General Education Program.

Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong delivered the opening speech of the program.

The program aims to enhance aesthetic education, political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and behavioral culture, arouse pride, inspire, motivate, and love the country for students; encourage and motivate teachers and educational managers to continue to strive, innovate, and be creative in teaching, making an important contribution to the development and international integration of the capital's education and training sector.

“Each performance conveys the students’ love and pride for their beautiful homeland and country, demonstrating their artistic talents nurtured by their beloved school. These will be colorful flowers to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Hanoi Education and Training sector and the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day,” said Mr. Tran The Cuong.

Students from 30 districts, towns and cities of Hanoi participated in the parade.

Expressing his joy at the ceremony, Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker, UNESCO Representative in Vietnam, shared that we can be proud when looking back at the strong vitality and resilience of Hanoi over the past 70 years. Hanoi has revived education, created lifelong learning opportunities, starting with the mass literacy campaigns in the early days of its establishment and continuing with educational and training innovation.

According to Mr. Jonathan Wallace Baker, 2024 marks the 25th anniversary of Hanoi being recognized by UNESCO as a City for Peace, and is also the year of the establishment of the UNESCO Office in Hanoi. UNESCO has always accompanied Hanoi and Vietnam on the journey to transform into a modern, dynamic, innovative and creative society. He believes that UNESCO and Vietnam will continue to create more achievements together.
