Nearly 1,200 people registered to donate blood

On April 3, in Thai Nguyen City, the Provincial Red Cross Association coordinated with the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Thai Nguyen City to organize a rally to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "National Voluntary Blood Donation Day" (April 7, 2000 - April 7, 2025); launching the "Pink Blood Drops - Summer 2024" Campaign, the organ donation movement in Thai Nguyen Province in 2025. The program attracted a large number of participants, of which more than 1,200 people registered to donate blood, expected to collect nearly 1,000 units of blood.

Thanks to the joint efforts of agencies and units, the voluntary blood donation movement (VBD) in Thai Nguyen province has made remarkable progress. In the past 5 years, the province has mobilized and received over 150,000 units of blood; in 2024 alone, this number reached nearly 37,000 units, the highest ever.

Officials, civil servants and people enthusiastically participated in donating blood to save lives.

In addition to blood donation, the movement of tissue and organ donation in Thai Nguyen is also receiving much attention. Up to now, over 2,000 people in the province have registered to donate tissue and organs, contributing to opening up hope for patients in need of organ transplants.

Speaking at the program, the representative of the Provincial Red Cross Society, the standing agency of the Provincial Steering Committee for Blood Donation, called on cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers and people from all walks of life to continue to join hands in action and spread the spirit of humanity. At the same time, he called on agencies, units and schools to actively orient and propagate the meaning of blood and organ donation.

Leaders of the Provincial Red Cross Society awarded Certificates of Merit to individuals with outstanding achievements in the voluntary blood donation movement in 2025.

The campaign "Pink Blood Drops - Summer 2025" was launched as an event to kick off a series of blood donation activities from April to September 2025, with the goal of attracting at least 11,000 units of blood, contributing to supplementing the blood supply to ensure the need for medical treatment.

Collectives and individuals are honored and rewarded in the voluntary blood donation movement, tissue and organ donation campaign.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented a logo to celebrate the 25th anniversary of National Blood Donation Day; commended and rewarded collectives and individuals with many achievements in the blood donation, tissue and organ donation movement in 2024.
