EVNSPC energizes a series of projects right before Tet holiday

Continuing the spirit of urgent and serious work, in January 2025, the Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) and construction units drastically accelerated the progress, energizing and operating 7 110kV power grid projects in the provinces of Kien Giang, Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, and Can Tho.

In particular, right before the official start of the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday (January 23-24, or 24-25 of the Lunar New Year), EVNSPC promptly energized 4 projects, contributing to improving the reliability of power supply, meeting the demand for load growth, as well as ensuring electricity to serve localities during the 2025 Lunar New Year.

4 projects energized right before Lunar New Year

On the last working day (January 24, the 25th day of the Lunar New Year) to enter the Tet holiday season of At Ty 2025, EVNSPC energized and put into operation 4 110kV power grid projects.

Specifically, energizing the 110kV U Minh Thuong Transformer Station and the 110kV NR Line connecting the 110kV U Minh Thuong Station (Kien Giang Province), with a total investment of more than 78.6 billion VND.

When put into operation, the project will meet the load development needs of U Minh Thuong district and neighboring areas of Kien Giang province, contributing to the socio-economic development of Kien Giang province; in addition, the project will also reduce the power supply radius on the 22 kV power grid in the area, thereby reducing power loss, forming a 22 kV loop connecting the 110 kV stations An Bien - U Minh Thuong - Vinh Thuan and neighboring 110 kV stations, improving the reliability of power supply to the area according to the N-1 criterion.

EVNSPC leaders visited and gave gifts of encouragement to workers at construction sites on the 25th and 26th of Tet.

On the 25th of Tet, EVNSPC also energized and put into operation the Phase-out project of the 110 kV O Mon - Song Hau transmission line - the connection point of the 220 kV Sa Dec station.

The project has a total investment of nearly 42 billion VND, with a construction scale and renovation of a 24.06 km long single-circuit line. When put into operation, the project will contribute to increasing the capacity of power transmission on the existing 110 kV line, meeting the load demand for regional development; strengthening the force for large anchorages, increasing the height of phase - ground to reduce incidents due to violations of the grid safety corridor; at the same time, increasing the reliability of power supply, meeting the demand for continuous power supply for 110 kV transformer stations in the area, increasing operational flexibility, meeting the N-1 criteria.

On the same day, EVNSPC also successfully energized the 110 kV Giang Dien Industrial Park Station and connecting line (Dong Nai province).

The 110 kV Outgoing Project from the 220 kV Phuoc Long Station (4 circuits) just energized phase 1 on the 24th of Tet.

In Binh Phuoc province, on January 23 (ie the 24th day of Tet), EVNSPC also directed Binh Phuoc Power Company to successfully energize Phase 1 of the 110 kV Outgoing Project from the 220 kV Phuoc Long station (4 circuits).

The project has a total investment of 30.66 billion VND, with a construction scale of 4-circuit line 2.55 km long, including 13 tower positions. Phase 1, temporarily energizing 2 circuits from exposed compartments 171, 172 of Phuoc Long 220 kV transformer station to the connection position with the existing Phuoc Long - VeDan 2 110 kV line.

This project also aims to transmit power from the Phuoc Long 220 kV transformer station to supply the existing Phuoc Long, Dong Phu, Dong Xoai, VeDan 2, Bu Dang 110 kV stations and the Bac Dong Phu and Phu Rieng Industrial Park 110 kV stations under new investment and construction; meeting the load development requirements of Phu Rieng, Dong Phu, Phuoc Long districts and increasing the reliability of safe and stable power supply to 110 kV stations in Binh Phuoc province...

In 2024, overcoming many difficulties and challenges, with many breakthrough and innovative decisions, EVNSPC has excellently and comprehensively completed many targets and plans; including a special achievement in investment and construction work when starting 58 projects, completing energizing 78 110 kV grid projects, including 62 projects according to the annual plan, 16 transitional and renovation projects; energizing 583 medium and low voltage projects.
The total disbursed investment capital value in 2024 is 13,798 billion VND, reaching 104.5% of the plan assigned by EVN.
In 2025, EVNSPC's goal is to mobilize all resources to complete 50 projects in April 2025 to achieve practical achievements to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment and development of the Southern Power Corporation (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); at the same time, contributing to meeting the electricity demand for socio-economic development in 21 southern provinces and cities.

3 projects completed at the beginning of the new year 2025

Previously, right after the 2025 New Year holiday, EVNSPC and its member units and contractors were determined to speed up progress to complete 110 kV power grid projects from the beginning of the year.

Specifically, EVNSPC has accepted and energized the T1 Transformer project, Thanh Duc 110 kV Transformer Station (Go Dau district, Tay Ninh province), completing the project to renovate and increase the capacity of Thanh Duc 110 kV Transformer Station from 2x40 MVA to 2x63 MVA.

The project has a total investment of over 56 billion VND. When completed, it will contribute to ensuring safe and continuous power supply for the load in Go Dau district, part of Duong Minh Chau district and areas connected to the 22 kV grid in Hoa Thanh, Phuoc Dong, Phuoc Duc, Trang Bang and Ben Cau.

In particular, the project also meets the power supply capacity for Hiep Thanh Industrial Park, which has just been approved for investment by the Prime Minister; in addition, the project also improves the operational reliability of N-1, connects the 110 kV Thanh Duc transformer station with the 110 kV transformer stations in Hoa Thanh, Phuoc Dong, Phuoc Duc, Trang Bang, Ben Cau areas, supports power supply back and forth to the 22 kV output line of the 110 kV stations when there is equipment maintenance and repair work...

Also in Tay Ninh province, EVNSPC has just put into operation the entire project "Upgrading the capacity of Tan Bien 110kV transformer station from 2x40 MVA to 2x63 MVA", Tan Bien district. The project has a total investment of over 54 billion VND, when put into operation, it will meet the load demand of Tan Bien district and neighboring districts in Tay Ninh province; reduce power loss, increase the reliability of power supply for the area; increase flexibility in operation as well as gradually upgrade the distribution grid according to N-1 standard; support Tan Hung and Suoi Dop 110kV transformer stations, Tay Ninh province.

In Phu Quoc island city, EVNSPC has just successfully energized and put into operation the newly built 110 kV North Phu Quoc Transformer Station, part of the 110 kV North Phu Quoc Transformer Station project.

The project has a design scale of two transformers with a capacity of 2x63 MVA, with a total investment of about 71 billion VND; in this phase, a 1x63MVA transformer will be installed. The newly built 110 kV North Phu Quoc transformer station is equipped with SCADA communication system, HMI, surveillance camera, data collection and remote control of station equipment, contributing to meeting the goal of centralized management and automation in the electricity industry. When put into operation, the project will contribute to connecting the 22 kV medium voltage grid with the 110 kV Phu Quoc transformer station to ensure the (N-1) criterion, reduce the power supply radius, thereby improving power quality, increasing the reliability of power supply for Phu Quoc city, as well as promoting the socio-economic development in the area.

Along with the 110 kV power grid projects; in January 2025, EVNSPC also energized and put into operation 3 medium voltage power grid projects funded by KfW, in the provinces of Long An, An Giang, and Tay Ninh.

Continue to visit and encourage construction workers during holidays and Tet
These days, when most workers have gone on Tet holiday, packed up and returned home to reunite with their families and prepare to celebrate Lunar New Year, on many 110 kV power grid construction projects of EVNSPC, construction contractors, supervision consultants, officers and employees of EVNSPC units are still working hard, with the spirit of working "Through holidays, through Tet", making the highest effort to complete important items, bringing the projects to the finish line on schedule.
Joining forces participating in the projects, EVNSPC leaders were also present at the construction sites in time to check the progress, direct the construction work, turn on the power, and give gifts to encourage workers who did not have time for Tet holiday.
