Dong Nai Department of Transport has just sent a document to solicit opinions from relevant units on the draft decision of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee on regulating road service prices for vehicles on the route connecting to Phuoc An port (Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai).
The road to Phuoc An port is 95% completed and is about to be put into operation.
This route is built under the form of public-private partnership (PPP), BOT contract. The starting point connects to Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway and the end point is at Phuoc An port, the largest seaport in Dong Nai province (expected to be put into operation in October 2024).
The draft stipulates that road use fees will be divided into 6 stages, starting from 2025 and lasting until 2040 and beyond.
In the first phase from 2025-2027, the lowest fees for single-trip, monthly, and quarterly tickets are VND20,000/trip; VND600,000/month; and VND1.62 million/quarter, applicable to vehicles with less than 12 seats, trucks under 2 tons, and public buses.
The highest fee is 110,000 VND/trip; 3.3 million VND/month; 8.91 million VND/quarter for trucks of 18 tons or more and 40-foot container trucks.
Subsequent phases will apply increasing fees according to the planned schedule.
Phuoc An Port is expected to be operational in October 2024.
In the period from 2028-2030, the fee will increase with the lowest level being 23,000 VND/time; 690,000 VND/month; and more than 1.86 million VND/quarter, the highest fee is 126,000 VND/time; 3.78 million VND/month; more than 10.2 million VND/quarter.
From 2040 onwards, the fee will peak with the lowest fare being VND37,000/trip; VND1.11 million/month; and nearly VND3 million/quarter, and the highest fee being VND200,000/trip; VND6 million/month; and VND16.2 million/quarter.
Workers are rushing to complete the final stages of the port road.
The Phuoc An Port connection road project has a total length of nearly 6km, with a total investment of more than 1,000 billion VND. Started in 2022, the project has achieved about 95% construction progress, expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024.
