'Even though I'm unemployed and have a lot of worries, I won't let you be sad'

I am in the down days of my career. Two startups failed. The company I work for is also facing difficulties and had to stop paying salaries.

Life suddenly became unstable and shaky. I suddenly became a burden to my wife and children.

The burdens weigh heavily on the shoulders.

But I cannot complain, frown, or do anything that would negatively affect my wife or children.

Also at this stage, my child is still young, at the age where he needs his father's care and companionship... so I cannot go far away to find a job.

I choose to spend more time with my children, especially this summer.

I took my child wandering around here and there. Sometimes we rode our bikes, sometimes we took the bus, sometimes we walked together.

I will not tell my children about the difficulties that their parents are facing. I just choose to take them out to explore the world and experience life. I choose to spend time taking them to the bookstore and reading books with them...

Maybe God is giving me this difficult time to remind me to spend less time on work and more time with my children?

Then, playing with my children, I learned many meaningful things.

Thanks to playing with my children, I understand the hardships and feelings of my grandparents in the past when raising their children.

Through playing with my children, I understand that if I am not perfect, I can make them sad and hurt them.

Through playing with my children, I learn lessons of patience, forgiveness, tolerance, of never stopping learning and never getting discouraged.

And in the most difficult times, by playing with my children, I appreciate my role in the family even more. By devoting all my time to my children and nurturing the father-child relationship, I somewhat make up for the busy days before.

Money is important but it is not everything. My child's joy and happiness come from the love, care and companionship of his parents. And thanks to my child, I feel like I have more strength to overcome difficulties.

My child's innocent smile and clear eyes are the motivation for me to continue trying. I believe that with the love and efforts of the whole family, we will overcome this difficult period and welcome better things in the future.

Besides spending time with my children, I also take the time to learn new skills, hoping to find another suitable job.

I believe that with determination and perseverance, I will soon return to work and take on the responsibility of being the breadwinner of the family.

Typing these lines, I would like to share with parents that family affection is always the most sacred, meaningful, and precious thing. Please spend time with your children and accompany them. Children are the priceless assets of life.
