Weather forecast October 15, 2024: Heavy rain in the Northwest, high tide in the South

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather trend from now until October 16 is as follows:

The Northern and North Central regions will have rain in some places, with scattered light fog in the early morning and sunny days; the mountainous regions of the Northwest and Viet Bac will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some places having heavy rain. From October 16, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places.

Central and South Central regions: On the night of October 14 and October 15, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. In the North, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.

From the afternoon of October 15 to October 16, there will be rain, moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain.

Central Highlands and Southern region: On the night of October 14, there will be showers and thunderstorms in some places. In the South, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places.

From October 15 to 16, there will be moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and at night, with heavy rain in some places (concentrated in the afternoon and at night).

In addition, at present, the water level in the eastern coast of the South is tending to increase due to high tides. It is forecasted that from the evening of October 14 to 15, the coast from Vung Tau to Ca Mau is likely to experience high tides of 395 - 405cm, with high water occurring between 0:00 - 4:00 and 12:00 - 16:00 every day. Low-lying areas and areas outside the dike are at risk of flooding due to high tides.

Weather at sea, on the night of October 14 and October 15, the western sea area of the North East Sea (including the waters of the Hoang Sa archipelago), the southern East Sea area (including the waters of the Truong Sa archipelago), the sea area from Quang Tri to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind of level 7-8.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue
