Domestic pepper prices updated on the afternoon of March 31, 2025

At the end of last week, pepper prices in the domestic market were traded at 158,000 - 159,000 VND/kg. In particular, pepper prices in Dak Nong province decreased by 500 VND/kg compared to last week, while other localities had little price fluctuation.

Experts say that domestic pepper prices are currently stable thanks to farmers’ hoarding mentality. While pepper output this year is relatively stable, actual supply is still limited, causing local shortages in the market in some localities. Farmers are currently tending to hold onto their goods waiting for prices to increase further, so selling pressure is not yet great.

Currently, many localities are in the pepper harvest stage. However, the recent drought in the Central Highlands has raised concerns about the productivity of the next crop. Organizations have made various forecasts, but most of them are leaning towards the possibility of a decrease in output.

With factors such as scarce supply, stable demand and farmers' hoarding mentality, pepper prices are likely to remain high in the coming time. Export enterprises are also actively purchasing to ensure the supply of goods for foreign partners, creating favorable conditions for domestic pepper prices.

Both domestic and international markets are closely monitoring the supply and demand situation, and future fluctuations could have a major impact on prices. Understanding market information and consumption trends will be an important premise for investors and farmers in the pepper industry.
