The victory over Chinese Taipei in the match on the evening of June 4 at the AVC Challenge Cup 2024 helped the Vietnamese men's volleyball team rise to the top of the Southeast Asian region.
On the evening of June 4, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team defeated their Chinese Taipei opponents 3-0 with the scores of 25-15, 25-22, 25-14. This victory helped coach Tran Dinh Tien and his team advance to the quarterfinals of the continental tournament and face the Pakistani team.

Vietnam men's volleyball team rose to the number one position in Southeast Asia.
The Vietnamese men's volleyball team will also be the only representative of Southeast Asia to reach the quarterfinals because Thailand (reigning champion), the Philippines, and Indonesia all failed to pass the group stage.
With good results at the AVC Challenge Cup 2024, the Vietnam men's volleyball team also rose to 53rd place in the world, surpassing Indonesia to take the number one position in Southeast Asia. On the continental level, the Vietnam men's volleyball team ranked 9th, right after the Pakistan team, their opponent in the quarter-finals of the AVC Challenge Cup 2024.
Just like women's volleyball, the AVC Challenge Cup 2024 is where the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) finds the champion and qualifies for the world-class FIVB Challenge Cup. Last year, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team stopped in the semi-finals.
