Today's Japanese Yen exchange rate surveyed on the morning of September 27, 2024 at banks, specifically as follows:

At Vietcombank , the Vietcombank Japanese Yen exchange rate is 164.08 VND/JPY and the selling rate is 173.63 VND/JPY - down 0.66 VND on the buying side and down 0.7 VND on the selling side.

At Vietinbank, the Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.18 VND in both buying and selling directions, equivalent to 166.03 VND/JPY and 175.73 VND/JPY.

At BIDV bank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.8 VND in buying and 0.84 VND in selling, reaching 166.47 VND/JPY and 173.91 VND/JPY, respectively.

At Agribank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate for buying and selling is 165.90 VND/JPY and 174.23 VND/JPY, respectively - down 1.31 VND for buying and down 1.43 VND for selling.

At Eximbank, the buying and selling rates are 167.11 VND/JPY and 173.1 VND/JPY, respectively - down 0.83 VND at the buying rate and down 0.87 VND at the selling rate.

At Techcombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.55 VND in buying and 0.58 VND in selling with prices of 163.27 VND/JPY and 173.60 VND/JPY, respectively.

At Sacombank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 0.31 VND in buying and decreased by 0.34 VND in selling, corresponding to the prices of 167.18 VND/JPY and 174.19 VND/JPY, respectively.

At NCB bank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate is 165.43 VND/JPY for buying and 173.71 VND/JPY for selling (corresponding to a decrease of 1.65 VND for buying and selling).

At HSBC bank, the Japanese Yen exchange rate decreased by 1.87 VND in buying and 1.96 VND in selling, respectively to 165.62 VND/JPY and 172.92 VND/JPY.

Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Kazuo Ueda expressed a cautious stance on monetary policy, saying the bank may wait until economic uncertainties subside before making its next move.

“ In making monetary policy decisions, the BOJ will have to carefully assess factors such as developments in domestic and overseas financial and capital markets, as well as the situation in other economies behind these developments. We have enough time to do so, ” Mr. Ueda said.

The risk of higher import prices has eased recently as the yen has recovered from a long period of depreciation, Ueda said, a sign that the BOJ does not see the need to act immediately to curb inflation.

Mr. Ueda's shift to a cautious stance since last week has reduced expectations that the BOJ will raise interest rates at its next meeting in October.

The yen gained 12% against the dollar in the third quarter, the strongest among 17 currencies tracked by Bloomberg. But analysts say the yen still faces long-term headwinds, including Japan’s weak economic growth outlook and aging population.
