(QNO) - On the afternoon of May 26, the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the road connecting Vo Chi Cong Street to Dong Que Son Industrial Park connecting with National Highway 14H and National Highway 1 (part of the Vo Chi Cong Street completion project). Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Hong Quang attended.

Mr. Tran Canh Ha - Deputy Director of the Provincial Traffic Construction Project Management Board said that the project is divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 starts at Km27+400 Vo Chi Cong Street (in Binh Sa Commune, Thang Binh), the end point connects to the intersection with the National Highway 1 connecting road project to the eastern Duy Xuyen region (through Binh Sa, Binh Trieu, Binh Phuc, Binh Giang (Thang Binh) and Duy Thanh Commune (Duy Xuyen) with a length of nearly 19.4km.

Phase 2 starts at Km27+400 Vo Chi Cong Street, the end point connects to Km979+310 National Highway 1 (passing through Binh Sa, Binh Tu, Binh Trung communes (Thang Binh) with a length of more than 3.7km.

The scale of the level III plain road is about 12.7m wide, with an asphalt concrete surface. Three bridges over the river will be built on the route, including Bau Bang Bridge (35m), Tu Nghia Bridge (110m) and Tra Long Bridge (78m); investment in drainage systems, lighting, trees, etc. The total investment of the project is 956 billion VND, of which the cost of site clearance is 159 billion VND. The implementation progress is 720 days, expected to be completed in April 2025.

"To complete the project on schedule, we hope that localities will pay attention to speeding up site clearance and handover as committed," Mr. Ha suggested.

Mr. Vo Van Hung - Chairman of Thang Binh District People's Committee said that this project will make an important contribution to socio-economic development, national security and defense; contributing to creating momentum for industrial, urban, trade and service development. Thang Binh District People's Committee will focus human resources from the district to the commune to accelerate site clearance and early handover according to commitments.

The representative of the construction unit commits to implement the schedule, items, and ensure technical standards according to the contract. At the same time, ensure construction safety, environment, traffic, security and order during the project implementation process.
