According to Quy Nhon City residents, every time Tet comes, green moss begins to grow densely on the slabs and rocks located under the breakwaters in local coastal fishing villages, forming lush green moss fields, shimmering like paintings.

This phenomenon makes people and tourists excited, flocking to the coastal fishing villages of Quy Nhon to check-in the lush, sparkling green moss fields during the Tet holiday. Among them, the most "unique" and attractive to tourists are the green moss fields in the coastal fishing villages of Nhon Hai commune, Quy Nhon city.
According to many fishermen in Nhon Hai commune, during the season of green moss growing on the rocks, from 4am every day, the local coastal fishing village begins to see a crowd of tourists coming to sightsee and check-in as souvenirs. In addition to the green mossy rocks, here, visitors can also enjoy the beauty of nature between the blue sea, white sand, yellow sunshine and fresh air.
Mr. Nguyen Van Cong (residing in Hai Bac village, Nhon Hai commune) said that every year, around the Lunar New Year, green moss begins to appear on the rocks under the breakwater in the local fishing village.
Particularly the rocky beaches in the two villages of Hai Dong and Hai Bac, in the green moss season, have attracted many tourists from all over to come here to visit and take pictures. Especially young people love to come here to take pictures of the moss beach at sunrise.

According to the leader of Nhon Hai Commune People's Committee, the green mossy rocks are a gift from nature to the locality. In particular, since 2019, after the Quy Nhon City government used large rocks and boulders as wave-breaking materials to prevent landslides and coastal erosion, the green moss grows thicker during the Tet holiday, creating a new feature for the coastal fishing villages of Nhon Hai.
