According to Dan Tri reporters, at the area selling Phalaenopsis orchids on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, Vinh City, Nghe An, many stalls appeared selling Phalaenopsis orchids in mother-of-pearl inlaid dragon-shaped pots, attracting visitors.
Mr. Duong Linh (in Hanoi) shared: "During the Tet holidays back home, I saw mother-of-pearl inlay patterns on my grandparents' cupboards. That was when I realized the delicate combination between art and Vietnamese tradition. From then on, I decided to turn my passion into reality by creating mother-of-pearl inlaid flower pots, to preserve and spread the beauty of Vietnamese culture."
According to Mr. Linh, each pot is inlaid with mother-of-pearl to express emotions, memories, wishes and folklore. These flower pots are a connection between tradition and modernity, bringing the story of Vietnamese culture closer to everyone.
"This year, I bring to Vinh city many unique pots inlaid with dragons, phoenixes, horses returning successfully, smooth sailing, returning home in glory, etc., with the hope of bringing orchid growers a complete and prosperous Tet," Mr. Linh added.
Mr. Linh added that his facility regularly sources orchids from Da Lat to distribute nationwide. However, this year, the flower market in Da Lat is bustling, it can be said that it is in a state of "out of stock" because the supply is not as much as in previous years.
Popular "hot" colors include cherry, pink and other mutated flower colors.
These days the weather is cold and rainy so people are slow to shop for Tet.
