VinFast VF 9 sales doubled, Vietnamese customers welcomed cheap electric cars

(Dan Tri) - VinFast's most premium electric car model saw a sharp increase in deliveries in May, while VF 5 Plus also recorded positive sales signals.

VinFast's May sales report recorded 2,996 vehicles sold, down from the previous month but still a positive number in the context of the sluggish automobile market in Vietnam in general.

In particular, the VF 8 model led VinFast 's sales with 1,274 vehicles, a slight increase compared to April. The Vietnamese automaker also delivered 960 VF e34s to customers. VinFast's most premium model is the VF 9, selling 430 vehicles, a sharp increase compared to nearly 200 vehicles in the previous month. In the second month of delivering vehicles to customers, VinFast VF 5 Plus sold 332 vehicles, while in the first month it was only 36 vehicles. Industry experts say that this electric vehicle model can lead VinFast's sales in the coming time thanks to its accessible price, from 458 million VND (excluding battery). In the first 5 months of 2023, VinFast delivered a total of 8,483 vehicles, mainly VF e34 and VF 8.

Recently, VinFast announced VF 3 in the mini car segment, with a length of more than 3.1 meters. The product is ranked below VF 5, designed with 2 rows of seats, 5 seats but only has 2 side doors and 1 trunk door. VF 3 is expected to help bring cars in general and electric cars in particular closer to Vietnamese people thanks to its low price. In the near future, VinFast may face competition from some Chinese electric car models.
