DNVN - Large enterprises need to promote their pioneering role more strongly in big, difficult and new tasks. At the same time, they need to proactively take on the task of solving national problems to create momentum for economic development; promote the role of "leading enterprises".
Speaking at the meeting between the Government Standing Committee and enterprises on tasks and solutions for private enterprises to accelerate, make breakthroughs, and contribute to the country's rapid and sustainable development in the new era, on the morning of February 10, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung said that after nearly 40 years of innovation, our country's enterprises have grown strongly in both quantity and quality.
There are currently 940,000 operating enterprises, more than 30,000 cooperatives and over 5 million business households. In 2024 alone, over 233,000 enterprises were newly established and returned to operation, the highest number ever. Some enterprises have developed to regional and world levels; proactively participated and affirmed their position and role in global supply chains, contributing to enhancing Vietnam's position and prestige in the international arena.
The business force has increasingly affirmed its important position and role in socio-economic development, industrialization and modernization of the country; contributing about 60% of GDP, 98% of total export turnover and creating jobs for about 85% of the country's workforce.
In 2024, the business investment environment has also been significantly improved with many breakthrough reforms. Typically, the amendment of laws on planning, bidding, investment in the form of public-private partnerships (PPP), and finance. This has created favorable conditions for investment and business activities; supplemented regulations on special investment procedures, creating a "green channel" for project implementation, helping to reduce time and costs for businesses.
The Prime Minister has established steering committees and working groups to support and remove difficulties and obstacles for businesses, especially the Steering Committee for reviewing and removing difficulties and obstacles related to projects, initially 12 projects in Ho Chi Minh City and 5 projects in Da Nang. In addition, the Government continues to reduce and extend the payment of some taxes to stimulate consumption and reduce costs for businesses.
In order for businesses to further promote their role and mission, Mr. Dung emphasized that the business community in general and the private enterprise team in particular need to further promote their role and mission in the country's socio-economic development.
Specifically, there is a high level of consensus on the particularly important role of enterprises in general, and private enterprises in particular, in socio-economic development. Focus on perfecting institutions, identifying institutions as "breakthroughs of breakthroughs", creating the most favorable business environment for enterprises.
At the same time, it is necessary to unleash all resources, using state resources to arouse, lead and activate social resources. Resolutely implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, identifying science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as the top important breakthroughs, the main driving force for the rapid development of modern productive forces.
It is necessary to build mechanisms and policies to form and develop large-scale, ethnic enterprises to lead the domestic value chain and expand participation in the international market; promote the effectiveness of investment support funds. Promote consumer demand stimulation and expand the market for enterprises.
In particular, it is necessary to promote the role of "leading enterprises". Large enterprises need to promote more strongly their pioneering role in big, difficult and new tasks, proactively taking on the task of solving problems at the national level to create momentum for economic development. At the same time, promote the role of "leading enterprises", transfer technology, proactively form joint ventures, associations, lead, create opportunities for small and medium enterprises to participate in development along the value chain.
