Going from the beginning of the village to the end of the village, everywhere you look you can see amazing changes. 100% of the village roads and inner-village roads are concreted, the landscape is bright, green, clean and beautiful; the people are excited and enthusiastic in competing to work to enrich their homeland.
Mr. Luong Hong Thang - Head of Lem village shared: "In September 2024, the village was assigned by the commune to complete the model NTM standard by the end of 2024. At this time, the village has only achieved 10/17 criteria for a model NTM village. Although it is a difficult village, with the assigned goals and tasks, the Party Cell and the Village Development Board focus on disseminating the content to cadres, party members, and people about the key contents that need to be implemented with the determination to firmly complete each criterion".
As a purely agricultural village, the whole village has 116 households and 433 people; therefore, the construction of a model new rural village must create high consensus and solidarity among the people. Clearly defining the criteria to be achieved: traffic system; environmental sanitation; production development; housing and family gardens; cultural house, village sports area; culture, health; political system, security and order, the Village Development Board organizes investigations and surveys to assess the current status of the level of achievement of the criteria; from there, there is a basis for making plans and completion time. Among the criteria to be achieved, the criteria on environmental sanitation are given special attention by the village.
With the goal of 100% of the village roads, alleys, hamlets, village cultural houses, and households being clean; the village has made a plan to establish an environmental sanitation team, eliminate the number of garbage accumulation points, dredge canals, drainage systems, build centralized garbage collection areas, place garbage bins along the roads, direct the Youth Union to coordinate with branches and organizations to build more centralized garbage pits in the fields to collect garbage; at the same time, ensure that 100% of households sign a commitment not to pollute the environment. At the same time, the village mobilized each household to contribute 150,000 VND/person to expand the village roads, complete the cultural house grounds, and install lighting to help people travel conveniently.
In order to improve the material and spiritual life of the people, based on the investment resources and support of the State in economic development policies, the village mobilizes people to renovate mixed gardens, change the structure of crops and livestock, build models of household economic development, expand industries and services. Up to now, the village has developed 15 hectares of fruit trees, 9 hectares of vegetables, 5 hectares of aquaculture; 85 hectares of forestry trees; 18 small-scale businesses and traders; 26 households raising livestock and poultry; established 1 cooperative, 3 cooperatives for processing planted forest wood, raising buffalo, cows, fish, etc.
As a result, many typical economic models have emerged with a total income of 400 - 500 million VND/year. A typical example is the livestock development model combining forest planting and fruit trees of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai's household with 12 hectares of forest hills, 2 hectares of fruit trees, raising pigs with a scale of 100 pigs/batch for an annual income of 500 - 700 million VND. The model of Mr. Luong Van Ban's household with an area of 17 hectares of forest hills, focuses on planting forestry trees, taking advantage of natural grass resources to develop commercial cattle farming in a semi-industrial form.
Every year, income from forests and cattle raising brings his family a revenue of 900 million - 1 billion VND... Lem village still has many households with an income of 500 million VND or more with typical comprehensive economic models. Thanks to the strong development of economic models, it has contributed to improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
By the end of 2024, the average income per capita will reach over 62 million VND, the poverty rate will decrease to 3%. With economic development, people will have the conditions to contribute money, materials, and labor to build infrastructure works such as roads, cultural houses, lighting systems, and renovate residential houses. In addition to economic development, villagers also voluntarily and enthusiastically participate in beautifying village roads and alleys, planting flowers along the roads, and maintaining public hygiene.
Walking on the beautiful, clean concrete road with colorful flowers, Mr. Dao Quang Bich excitedly said: "Since implementing the model new rural construction, people's lives have changed a lot. Roads are clean and beautiful, travel is more convenient, canals are solidified; awareness of environmental hygiene has been clearly raised...".
With the drastic participation of the entire political system and the joint efforts and consensus of the people, by December 2024, Lem village had completed 17/17 model NTM criteria and received the certificate of recognition as a model NTM village in 2024. The results achieved are clear evidence of the spirit of solidarity and consensus of the local Party Committee, government and people.
