The University of Technology, University of Natural Sciences, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Economics and Law, University of Information Technology, International University, University of Health Sciences, and An Giang University will give priority to students from these 149 schools by direct admission (considering academic records combined with a number of criteria).
Of the 149 high schools nationwide, there are 83 specialized and gifted high schools and 66 additional high schools according to the criteria of Ho Chi Minh City National University.
66 high schools were added to the list this year according to the following criteria: Allocating the number of schools according to the priority of enrollment areas or provinces and cities with a large number of candidates registering and passing the entrance exam to this university; High schools with a large number of candidates passing the entrance exam and enrolling in this university; High schools with a number of alumni achieving high academic results while studying at this university.

Ho Chi Minh City National University reserves 15% of its enrollment quota for direct admission, with priority given to students from 149 high schools based on their academic records. The information was announced at the seminar "Admission methods and capacity assessment exams in 2025" on February 12.
This year, Ho Chi Minh City National University enrolls students using 3 methods: Direct admission (maximum 15% of the target); Considering the capacity assessment test scores (minimum 20%); Considering the high school graduation exam scores (from 50% or more).
In particular, direct admission is for three groups: direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; Priority is given to excellent and talented students recommended by the principal of the high school; Priority is given to candidates from 149 high schools. Candidates are considered based on their academic records and other achievements, if they have good academic performance and good conduct.
Member schools are encouraged to develop a combined admission method to recruit candidates with comprehensive abilities, suitable for the training goals of the industry and profession.
