(QBĐT) - By the warm fire burning in the middle of the house at dawn, Ho Dan (born 2006) from Lam Ninh village, Truong Xuan commune (Quang Ninh) saw the members gathered around. "Just a little bit more, Ho Dan will officially become Uncle Ho's soldier!" - his grandmother Ho Thi Ly's voice was low and proud - "Try your best, son, to be worthy of the trust the whole village has placed in you".

1. Arriving at the slope at the head of the village, Ho Dan saw many villagers waiting to see him off to the army. On behalf of the villagers, Village Chief Ho Hon firmly held Ho Dan's hand, his voice as firm as a knife cutting wood: "Go... hard feet, soft rocks!".

The story of the Van Kieu boy Ho Dan joining the army, the village chief Ho Hon told with pride: After graduating from junior high school, Ho Dan studied auto repair at the Vocational College. Hearing that Truong Xuan commune was calling for young people to join the army, Ho Dan volunteered and was accepted. In the whole Truong Xuan commune, there were 5 outstanding young men joining the army, only Ho Dan was a child of the Bru-Van Kieu ethnic group. How can you not be proud!

About 200 kilometers from Lam Ninh is Ba Loóc village, Dan Hoa commune (Minh Hoa), the family of Ho Xuan Ba ​​and Ho Thi Tang also woke up early, preparing military equipment to help their second son Ho Xuan Cuong (born in 2006) join the army. Mother Ho Thi Tang's eyes were filled with tears, her heart filled with so much love for her son before his departure that she could not put it into words. Ho Xuan Ba's father kept reminding his son to check his luggage, but his legs did not listen to his head, only obeyed his heart, wanting to stand close to his son forever, hugging him tightly. The May ethnic boy Ho Xuan Cuong loved his parents, he could only smile and reassure them: "My son is grown up, his thinking has crossed three mountains and four rivers. Mom and Dad, stay at home and try to take care of my younger siblings so that they can study properly. When I have completed my duty, I will return."

Returning to Dong Hoi City, in the chill of the early morning, in a small house in Diem Trung residential area, Duc Ninh Dong ward, twin brothers Bui Viet Huy and Bui Viet Hoang (born in 2006) woke up early in the morning. Huy and Hoang lit incense on the ancestral altar and spent time with their mother Hoang Thi Hoa Ly and grandfather Bui Hong Thuy. Before leaving for the army, Huy and Hoang loved their mother even more. Holding back her tears, mother Hoang Thi Hoa Ly stroked her two sons' heads, seeing that they had truly grown up and matured when they decided to volunteer to join the army, officially becoming Uncle Ho's soldiers. Bui Viet Huy and Bui Viet Hoang promised their mother: "When we join the army, we will strive, study, and train well, and complete all tasks assigned by our superiors. This is a sacred mission that the Fatherland has entrusted to the young generation like us. Mother, please rest assured."

2. Along with the whole country, on the morning of February 14, 1,185 Quang Binh citizens enlisted in the People's Army (QĐND) and performed the People's Public Security (CAND) service, present at the assembly points in 8 districts, towns, and cities, preparing to depart to respond to the call of the country, including 951 young men enlisting in the QĐND and 234 young men participating in the People's Public Security service.

From the mountainous districts of Minh Hoa, Tuyen Hoa to Ba Don, Quang Trach, Bo Trach towns to Dong Hoi, Quang Ninh and Le Thuy cities... traveling in the midst of spring, flags and banners, we felt the bustling atmosphere of the military handover festival with many emotions. Those who left and those who stayed behind encapsulated their love in a thoughtful message: "Try to train, strive, and be worthy of the tradition of the two-talented Quang Binh homeland".

Quy Dat town center was filled with flags and flowers. Hundreds of people gathered to say goodbye to their hometown children who were leaving for the army. Outstanding citizens of Minh Hoa district joined the army in the spring, in the love of their hometown, relatives and friends. Tears of happiness and love from mothers, fathers, wives and lovers of the new soldiers were moved to fall, sending each other faith and hope.

The new recruit, a Khua ethnic Ho An from Ong Tu village, Trong Hoa commune, dressed neatly in military uniform, with a bright smile on his face, pointed to his mother Ho Thi Bua standing among the people seeing him off. Mother Ho Thi Bua said: "Seeing my son confident, I feel very secure. I entrust him to the Party and the Army to educate and nurture him."

We met new recruit Duong Van Hoang (born in 2006), the adopted son of parents Mai Van Hoa and Hoang Thi Thu in Hau Thanh village, Phu Canh commune, a parishioner of Hau Tho parish, Phu Kinh parish at the military transfer point of Quang Trach district. Hoang's parents adopted him from SOS village in Da Nang when he was only 12 days old. Duong Van Hoang confided: "As a young man, I determined that joining the Army would be an honorable duty and responsibility. Joining the Army is partly to repay the kindness of my parents and hometown for raising me to adulthood."

At the military handover point of Ba Don town, in the group of 118 young men enlisting this time, we met new recruit Nguyen Minh Chau (born in 2006) from Vinh Phuoc village, Quang Loc commune. Nguyen Minh Chau shared: “My grandfather was a war invalid during the resistance war against America. I am a Catholic. After graduating from high school, I stayed home to help my parents. With the encouragement of my family, friends and local authorities, I was determined to join the Army. When the country needs it, all people, regardless of religion or nationality, unite to contribute and sacrifice for their homeland and country.”

Dong Hoi City has 101 citizens joining the army. Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Xuan Khoa, Commander of the City Military Command, said: All outstanding citizens voluntarily wrote applications to join the military service. Of the 101 new recruits, 75 were accepted by the following units: Naval Region 3 Command, Coast Guard Region 2 Command, Provincial Border Guard Command, Provincial Military Command, Division 324, Military Region 4, and 26 people joined the People's Public Security Service. The quality of new recruits is basically guaranteed according to requirements. In particular, the rate of citizens voluntarily writing applications to join the army this year reached 100%.

On behalf of the city’s youths leaving for military service, new recruit Nguyen Hoang Nhat Nam expressed his determination: The revolutionary tradition will forever be the spiritual motivation, the sacred flame that lights up the faith of young people in all activities of self-reliance and career building in the Ho Chi Minh era. We are proud to become soldiers of the People’s Army and the People’s Public Security, following in the footsteps of our fathers and brothers to protect the Fatherland for the goal of “rich people, strong country, democratic, fair and civilized society”, bringing our homeland and country into a new era - the era of national development.

Becoming Uncle Ho’s soldiers, today’s youth will try to promote the tradition of Quang Binh homeland “Two good”, be absolutely loyal to the guidelines of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the socialist regime, uphold the spirit of revolutionary vigilance, be ready to fight and sacrifice for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Determined to strive, make efforts to study, train, overcome all difficulties, proactively integrate and adapt to the new environment, strictly comply with the laws of the State, discipline and regulations of the unit, feel secure in being attached to the unit, complete well the tasks in the army, strive to achieve many achievements to report to family and hometown.

Among the new recruits joining the army in 2025, Quang Binh has 100% of youth union members; 12 party members; 59.1% meet health standards of type 1, 2; 69.2% have high school, intermediate, college, university education; the proportion of intermediate, college, and university education accounts for nearly 2.42%.
