Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee has just held a press conference for Hau Giang Ao Ba Ba Festival 2023. The press conference took place in Vi Thanh City in an open space (no background, no auditorium, no pre-printed documents...) chaired by Ms. Ho Thu Anh, Vice Chairman of Hau Giang Provincial People's Committee.

Introducing the pineapple silk ao ba ba
According to information from the press conference, Hau Giang province currently has about 2,800 hectares of famous Cau Duc pineapple. In addition to producing fruit for consumption and export, Cau Duc pineapple provides abundant reserves of green leaves used as very good raw materials for fabric, but has not been fully exploited to create new products, creating a sustainable source of income for the agricultural economy.
The first Hau Giang Ao Ba Ba Festival 2023 will introduce Ao Ba Ba collections woven from Cau Duc pineapple silk, which is an exciting highlight for visitors from near and far. Cau Duc pineapple silk combined with Bao Loc (Lam Dong) and Nha Xa (Ha Nam) silk will produce Ao Ba Ba that will satisfy visitors with its pristine, pure beauty.
According to designer Minh Hanh, Cau Duc pineapple is a famous agricultural product and a great strength of Hau Giang province. Hau Giang's pineapple raw material area is abundant. Pineapple leaves completely meet the textile system and have produced very eye-catching pineapple silk fabric products. If determined, in the near future, Hau Giang will provide tourists with beautiful and inexpensive Cau Duc pineapple silk ao ba ba shirts. Pineapple silk is as light as silk and has antibacterial properties not much inferior to silk.

"Today, I myself appeared at this press conference wearing an Ao Ba Ba outfit made from pineapple silk. I think that in the future, Hau Giang will be the place to produce many pineapple silk outfits. An industrial fabric product originating from durable, environmentally friendly agricultural silk materials," designer Minh Hanh shared.
Promote economic and tourism development
Ms. Ho Thu Anh said that the province is promoting the registration of the trademark of Hau Giang Ao Ba Ba Festival and this Festival will take place annually in Hau Giang to contribute significantly to the sustainable development of culture and tourism.
Delegates visit fabrics woven from Cau Duc pineapple silk
Hau Giang Ao Ba Ba Festival 2023 takes place from September 29 to October 1, at Ho Sen Cultural Area (KV4, PI, Vi Thanh City) and always welcomes visitors to visit and enjoy. Hau Giang Ao Ba Ba Festival 2023 includes main activities such as: Ao Ba Ba art performance, exhibition of old and new Ao Ba Ba photos, painting contest using AI technology (artificial intelligence) with the participation of many primary and secondary school students, amateur music performances, young women in Ao Ba Ba costumes moving on the river, introducing delicious dishes from Cau Duc pineapple, Hau Giang beaded snakehead fish... Provincial leaders hope that through these practical cultural and culinary activities, they will contribute to promoting economic development and sustainable tourism services for the peaceful and hospitable land of Hau Giang.
