Meet quality and progress requirements
On the afternoon of December 19, the Department of Transport held a conference to summarize the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. Attending the conference were comrade Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
With determination and positivity in direction and operation, in 2023, Nghe An Transport sector achieved many results in state management in all management areas of the sector.
Planning, plans, mechanisms and policies are implemented promptly and with quality. Quality management of traffic works in 2023 will also continue to be strengthened to ensure standards.
Transportation activities are carried out smoothly, without prolonged congestion, ensuring 24/7 circulation of goods, serving people's lives and production and business activities.
Traffic safety and order work continues to improve, traffic accidents continue to decrease in 3 criteria. The Department continues to focus on directing and improving the quality of training, testing and granting driving licenses of all classes.

The management of traffic infrastructure has been strengthened with many synchronous solutions to improve the efficiency of exploiting the traffic infrastructure system. During the year, the Department focused on directing the completion of 44 periodic repair projects with a repair length of 70.14 km of road surface, especially removing 10 spillways, replacing 1 weak bridge, repairing 3 bridges, and inspecting 1 bridge.
The industry has focused on implementing special projects, especially key projects, to meet quality and progress requirements. Disbursement of capital sources has met requirements; a number of industry works and projects have been put into operation on schedule, ensuring quality and promoting investment efficiency.
The value of construction output in 2023 is estimated at VND 1,867 billion (up 10% compared to the same period in 2022). The estimated disbursement in 2023 is about VND 2,100 billion, reaching 95.34% of the total allocated capital. Of which, the disbursement of medium-term public investment capital is VND 1,312 billion, reaching 100%.
Up to now, the industry has basically completed construction and handed over about 137 km of roads and 11 bridges. Of which, the following projects have been handed over: Muong Xen - Ta Do - Khe Kien Road, section Km7 - Km26 and Km29 - Km46; Upgrading and expanding National Highway 15A, section Km301+500 - Km315+700, Km324+500 - Km333+200 and Truong Bon bypass; Coastal road from Nghi Son (Thanh Hoa) to Cua Lo (Nghe An) from the intersection of National Highway 46 to TL.535 (Km76 - Km83+500); Renovation and repair of DT.539C, section Km7 - Km16+500. The total number of projects being implemented is 9 projects, with a total investment of VND 8,249 billion.
The rural transport infrastructure system has received focused investment and construction. In 2023, the People's Committees at district and commune levels will build 1,050 km of new roads. Of which: 243.1 km of asphalt roads, 812.6 km of cement concrete roads, 53.2 km of aggregate roads; 140 bridges and spillways. The total estimated cost of implementation is about 2,270 billion VND.
Besides, the industry actively directs and coordinates the implementation of projects and works invested by the Central Government and the industry in the province.
Speed up the progress of key projects
Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh highly appreciated the efforts of the Transport sector in implementing a large volume of work, complex tasks, overcoming difficulties and challenges to achieve remarkable results in 2023.
Deploying the tasks for 2024, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh requested the Transport sector to overcome difficulties and shortcomings, make efforts and be determined to complete the set goals and tasks.
Accordingly, the sector needs to update the policies and plans of the Central Government, the planning of the province and the socio-economic development needs of the province as a basis for developing an implementation plan according to the Action Program to implement Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo.
The industry needs to focus on directing and closely coordinating with localities to remove difficulties in site clearance, speed up the progress of projects to put them into use soon, and promote project effectiveness.
At the same time, well manage the traffic infrastructure system, strengthen maintenance and repair work, ensure smooth traffic; strengthen quality management work, strictly implement regulations and rules on basic construction, traffic infrastructure management, traffic corridors; driver training and testing, vehicle registration.
Promote propaganda activities, disseminate and educate about traffic safety laws, create high consensus among the people, and create a strong change in awareness of traffic law compliance.

On this occasion, collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Director of the Department of Transport./.
