On December 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a conference to review the investment and construction of the 500kV line circuit 3 Quang Trach (Quang Binh) - Pho Noi (Hung Yen).

Completed in lightning time

Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his emotion when the 500 kV line 3 project spanning 9 provinces, 43 districts, and 211 communes was constructed in harsh conditions, with steep and dangerous terrain, but was completed in a lightning-fast time.

On behalf of the Government, the Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to the officials, engineers, and workers in the electricity sector and the localities for mobilizing the entire political system from the police, army, organizations such as the youth union, veterans' association, women's association, trade unions, and related businesses.

In particular, news agencies have published moving images that create momentum and inspire the entire nation with more than 6,000 articles promoting the image of electricians on construction sites.

“I have followed a series of articles in the newspapers Tien Phong, Thanh Nien, Tuoi Tre, and Lao Dong that clearly reflect and contribute to improving the image of electricians in the hearts of the people, affirming the cultural values ​​and achievements of the electricity industry, inspiring the spirit of overcoming the sun and rain, not losing to storms for the country's projects,” said the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister suggested that the electricity industry needs century-old projects that can turn the situation around.

“In every job, there will be people who will discuss it, and people who will back down, but if we are determined to do it and know how to do it, we will be able to do it. Completing the project will contribute to enhancing the prestige, role and position of the electricity industry; creating trust with the people and domestic and foreign investors. We are doing projects that seem impossible. This demonstrates the confidence, courage, creativity and spirit of overcoming difficulties of the electricity industry,” said the Prime Minister.

The electricity industry needs projects of the century.

The Prime Minister clearly stated the lesson that resources come from thinking and vision, motivation comes from innovation and creativity, strength comes from the people and institutional difficulties must be promptly resolved; with the mindset of being clear, determination must be high, efforts must be great, work resolutely, complete each task, clearly assign people, tasks, responsibilities and strengthen inspection and supervision, not allowing corruption and negativity to occur.

In particular, the Prime Minister also pointed out a noteworthy point of the 500kV line 3 project: progress is important but quality is even more important. The Yagi storm (No. 3) has partly demonstrated the quality of the project.

“When storm No. 3 hit, I was very worried that the 500kV line had just been completed. If an incident occurred, the progress of the effort would be lost in the river or the sea. However, with such strong winds and storms, many buildings and houses collapsed, but the 500kV line still stood firm and maintained its quality. The project is a testament to the spirit that nothing is impossible,” the Prime Minister shared.

The Prime Minister said that our country is entering an era of national development as directed by the General Secretary; to successfully achieve the two hundred-year goals of the nation, in the coming period our country must have a breakthrough economic growth rate of double digits. This is a huge challenge for the electricity industry, because for every 1% GDP growth, the electricity industry grows 1.5 times.

“The problem is whether we dare to think, dare to do, and know how to do it,” the Prime Minister said, suggesting that the electricity industry in the coming time needs to make breakthroughs, have projects of the century, and have the nature of turning the situation around, with the highest goal of “absolutely not allowing a power shortage.”

To achieve this requirement, the head of the Government requested the electricity sector to promote self-reliance, self-strengthening, bravery, flexibility and creativity; promote the combined strength of the entire political system; mobilize the strength of people and businesses, apply science and technology, artificial intelligence and cloud computing so that the electricity sector can develop in line with the world trend.

"The Party has directed, the Government has agreed, the National Assembly has agreed, the People have supported, so we only need to discuss action, not retreat," said the Prime Minister.

Previously, speaking at the conference, Mr. Dang Hoang An - Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) - said that the project implementation had overcome all difficulties, working " 3 shifts ", "overcoming the sun, overcoming the rain", "through holidays, Tet, and days off", ensuring the required progress and quality.

“If the 500kV line 1 was invested and built with the spirit of daring to do and taking responsibility, the 500kV line 2 was built with the spirit of promoting internal strength and national self-reliance, the 500kV line 3 project was built with the spirit of promoting the combined strength of the entire political system from the Government, ministries, branches, local authorities at all levels, and the people joined hands and unanimously overcame all difficulties, innovated ways of working to bring the project to the finish line on schedule,” Mr. An concluded.
