Most of Dak Nong’s enterprises and cooperatives are currently operating in the agricultural sector. Therefore, the need for investment in increasing the value of products is very large, especially in terms of technology.

Coffee products of Dak Plao Organic Agriculture, Service and Trade Cooperative, Dak Plao commune, Dak Glong district (Dak Nong) are being produced in an organic direction.

Dak Plao Organic Agriculture-Service-Trade Cooperative, Dak Plao commune is a typical example of clean agricultural production in the locality. The cooperative was established in 2022, with 45 members. The members are currently producing key crops such as coffee, durian, citrus trees, etc.

Director of the Cooperative Do Ngoc Man said that the newly established cooperative has many difficulties in production conditions. Production machinery and equipment are still rudimentary, mostly handmade.

In particular, after harvesting, coffee is only used in the drying yard, so it is at a disadvantage when it rains a lot. After picking, coffee exposed to rain will turn black and moldy, greatly affecting the quality. The value of the products as well as the income of the members are affected.

“The Dak Glong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is guiding the cooperative to prepare a dossier to receive support for a horizontal static dryer from the National Target Program on New Rural Development. Thereby, it will help stabilize the coffee drying of members and improve product quality,” said Mr. Man.

Similarly, Sangs Farm Agricultural Cooperative, Quang Son commune is also in need of developing green-skinned grapefruit products.

The cooperative currently has 10 hectares of green-skinned grapefruit produced according to VietGAP standards. Each year, the grapefruit garden yields nearly 100 tons. The product market is expanding both inside and outside the province.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Hieu, representative of the cooperative, said that the goal of the cooperative is not only to sell fresh fruit. The unit is being supported by the functional sector and guided through procedures to invest in purchasing machinery and technology for deep processing of products such as grapefruit jam, grapefruit essential oil, etc. Diversifying products will help increase the economic value of the cooperative members.
