(HGO) – On the afternoon of June 1, General Pham Van Tra, former member of the Politburo, former Minister of National Defense, Honorary Chairman of the Pham Van Tra Education Promotion Fund of Hau Giang province, visited and introduced to the Provincial People's Committee about the Sapien Australia Investment Fund in Vietnam, to support and create conditions for students of Hau Giang province to study abroad and workers to work in Australia.

At the meeting, General Pham Van Tra introduced the Sapien scholarship. He emphasized: This is the first meeting for the provincial leaders and the Sapien Australia Investment Fund in Vietnam to have more conditions to exchange and share necessary information so that Hau Giang can select students, workers who want to study and work in Australia. Doing this activity well will not only help students, workers and workers in the province have more conditions to both study and work well in a quality environment, but also contribute positively to training activities, job introduction and poverty reduction in the locality. He suggested that in the coming time, the province needs to closely coordinate with the Sapien Australia Investment Fund in Vietnam to select students with good qualities and abilities to effectively study abroad; especially for those participating in labor in Australia, the province needs to select people with at least a high school diploma, a high sense of responsibility, a sense of striving for life... Priority is given to poor households and those in difficult circumstances.

Sapien scholarship is a 100% full scholarship program for demobilized soldiers in difficult circumstances, policy households, those with revolutionary contributions, and poor households nationwide; focusing on supporting 2 main programs: Studying abroad with a 100% tuition scholarship and a general labor program in Australia. Accordingly, for every 8 participants, 1 person in difficult circumstances will be able to go 100% free of charge. Participants are students, workers aged 18-45, graduated from high school or higher, with a minimum foreign language level of IELTS 4.5/PTE 30...; with majors of study and work: agriculture; construction, tiling; nursing; hotel restaurants, chefs, coffee making; food processing; construction, tiling; information technology, beauty care...

Ms. Ho Thu Anh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, expressed her gratitude to General Pham Van Tra and the Sapien Australia Investment Fund in Vietnam for their interest and support in providing scholarships for students and workers who want to study and work in Australia. The Provincial People's Committee will actively pay attention and closely direct this activity to be of high quality to lay the foundation for the next study and work trips for workers in the province. The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and Hau Giang Community College will inform and introduce the program, time and cost, schools, etc. to select quality study abroad candidates who meet the study-work program. As for selecting the workforce, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs will select candidates with skills, discipline, diligence, etc.
